Wurl, I'm not Catholic present-tense...but was (desultorily, even?) raised as such. But, somehow I think I managed to inculcate myself with all kinds of unhealthy attitudes in the process.

That approach sounds potentially genius in its own way, though.

Agh, actually I think my greater "challenge" lies in the area of being cruel to myself or self-hating in some sense on a psychological level, which I guess is a different issue altogether from feeling guilt about idling about with grapes being dangled into my mouth

or being a laurel-crowned robot snacking on caviar, or whatever

I am a real Catholic and opposed to all pleasures that don't come with two free scoops of guilt

i wish i cld do copious amounts of drugs and debauched sex guilt free but even tho i am atheist i still have that catholic guilt in me. grrrrrrr

I have plenty of guilt and I've never been Catholic. I don't think it's an ex-Catholic thing.

The guilt kind of multiplies up the copious drugs and detached sex score, But I M ignoring the subjective score

I have no guilt unless the hedonism is at an expense. My only regrets are that I haven't let myself go nearly as much as I ought to have done.
