i'm getting self-conscious about doing this

usually blender or GQ (can afford 0 of the clothes they talk about but they usually run really good features) or new york times/usa today (we get those both for free on campus + local paper and st louis dispatch so i usually grab one even if i don't think i'll read it) or the school paper if i have something in it.

GQ & Details are mags I totally feel ashamed to be buying for some reason, but they do have killer features (& Details has Andy Langer!).

i bought a new wallet recently and only carry debit card, credit card, cash and ID in it. finally ditching useless gift cards and BUY 78 SUBS GET 1 (!!!) FREE cards is a SMALL PLEASURE

always a book- usually a novel, or short stories. even if i do not bring a bag with me, i will grab a book small enough for a jacket pocket if i expect to be on a bus or in a lineup etc etc for any length of time.

I ask cause I had lolhueg wallet syndrome for years til I did the notebook-as-wallet thing. Ditched the BUY 78 SUBS GET 1 (!!!) FREE cards, but keep them in the glove compartment in case I'm ever in the market for that shit. Haven't opened said compartment once.

Yeah I've got a milk bottle at home for nick/dime/pennies, and a little container labeled "Laundry Money" for quarters.

New apartment uses debit cards for laundry machines (!!), so the latter's kinds useless now.

I pay for most small purchases in cash, so I always have tons of it. When I was SF, I didn't want to be carrying change and there were always lots of bums around, so I just gave all my change to the nearest bum.

* Hair gel

I try to minimize the pocket shit (tight pants + increasing paunch = bad news cell phone bulge or whatever), but I keep my phone on vibrate at all times (I don't really fuck with Fur Elise and I get tired of whatever ringtone I download after a couple days, plus it's a pain to put it on/off silent when it needs be) so it needs to stay in pocket.

I've been carrying my passport for 6 months since i got refused service at a bar in portland because of a crack in my NC drivers license. They "couldn't" even let me stay in the bar. And of course I've procrastinated about getting the license replaced.
