"one more cup of coffee before i go" - how much do you drink per day in average?

Two, before anything else passes my lips.

Hmm, one wakey cuppaT, one coffee before work, one At work, one on getting home, a cupaT later, a coffee after dinner, and then maybe one before (but not right before) bed.

Oh, and if I can't sleep, I breakout the caffeine free tbags for one.

One cup if badly hungover, i.e. about once a month (yeah, i need to drink more booze too).

i'm rarely organised enough to have one in the morning, but one at eleven, one with lunch, one at about four and at least one in the evenings. probably keep that average up at weekends too. coffee/tea interchangeable, depending on my mood and alcohol intake the night before.

Never, unless I'm feeling like a zombie at work and there are leftovers after a catered meeting. It makes me jittery and rarely wakes me up.

2 cups (12 oz. mugs) every morning. Occasionally a cup with dessert in the evening if we're eating out somewhere nice.

depends, really. right now i'm on my second mug of ludicrously strong stuff -- guess i'll have drunk about half a cafitiere's worth by the time i'm done. but that's not exactly normal for me.

I usually have one about 9:30-10:30. And one after lunch. I never have time to eat or drink anything at home before I leave for work, and I usually like to have some breakfast and get organised before I make one when I get to work. At the weekends I have the same only about 3 hours later.

i would say three on average. feels like its too much sometimes, but apparently it's fairly average.

i've been cutting down lately because of strange stomach sounds and pains, and it's helped. still can't forego the morning cup + maybe one right after i get in to work. cigs are what really keep me going these days though. :/

I have exactly one cup at work every morning. The machine at my office costs 10 cents and is on another floor, so I just allot myself that dime a day for a little styrofoam cup and it's been surprisingly easy to limit myself to that. I worked at restaurants when I was younger, and I'd always go nuts with the free coffee on breakfast shifts and end up drinking like 6 cups. I'm going to buy a coffeemaker for my apartment at some point, but I'm kind of afraid having that access will reawaken the coffee addict within.

3 a day on average , but it needs to be espresso shot w/ hot water. And this only in the morning and days I'm not at work. Otherwise it's tea. Regular coffee doesn't taste as good to me as espresso.

a few months ago, before working at a place with an espresso maker, i would've thought that was a coffee-snob attitude but now i know that it is so otm and that right now as i am drinking strong drip coffee b/c the rubber seal broke on my stovetop espresso maker yesterday, i feel a kind of ache for the good stuff

Wow, from what I can tell, my 8 cup conservative average is going to be an outlying point in this poll.

xpost Even ok espresso tastes better to me than a cup of regular coffee. Plus - and most importantly - it gives me more of a jolt than the reg stuff. I'll still go for a good cup of reg coffee if no espresso's available , tho
