What about french-toasted waffles?

Alex in SF, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:45 (seventeen years ago) link

i was gonna say, french-toasted pancakes = predalien?

Jordan, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:48 (seventeen years ago) link

Haha that's WRONG!

Alex in SF, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:49 (seventeen years ago) link

i don't know if french-toasted waffles would work in a pan. but maybe battering the waffle and then putting it back in the waffle maker???

Jordan, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:49 (seventeen years ago) link

i like my predator with peanut butter.

The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:52 (seventeen years ago) link

It's works best if they waffles are thin-ish. Thick belgian style waffles don't work well.

Alex in SF, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:52 (seventeen years ago) link

do you do this on the regular?

Jordan, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:54 (seventeen years ago) link

No, but I have done it so therefore it should be poll option.

Alex in SF, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:55 (seventeen years ago) link

Fuck you for making me want waffles right now

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:56 (seventeen years ago) link

it has to go through the approval process first. i want to try french-toasted frozen waffles on the stove and french-toasted belgian waffles in the waffle maker!!

Jordan, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:58 (seventeen years ago) link

waffle french toast obscure the advantages of the waffle. waffle crevices are reserved for butter, honey, syrup, jam, whipped cream... just about anything but eggy batter.

elmo argonaut, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:58 (seventeen years ago) link

Waffles are able to contain the syrup better.

Pleasant Plains, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 21:59 (seventeen years ago) link

if you had to eat waffles every morning, you'd lose your mind

if you had to eat french toast every morning, you'd succumb to depression

pancakes every morning would not effect any sweeping changes on your psyche

ergo pancakes in a walk

J0hn D., Wednesday, 2 January 2008 23:06 (seventeen years ago) link

i don't know man, i think a pancake diet would bring on some serious ennui. waffles keep things interesting.

;Pancakes are not Batman. Pancakes are Hellboy.

Oilyrags, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 23:31 (seventeen years ago) link

Batman is probably an energy bar or something. Starman is toast.

Oilyrags, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 23:38 (seventeen years ago) link

i think... i gotta go pancakes. so pure and beautiful.

s1ocki, Wednesday, 2 January 2008 23:49 (seventeen years ago) link

pancakes. buckwheat pancakes. with real butter and real maple syrup (syrup slightly warmed). to be served at 11:30 a.m., alongside a small orange juice and the morning's 2nd cup of coffee. (mimosas can be substituted for orange juice.)

Pancakes

Rock Hardy, Thursday, 3 January 2008 00:50 (seventeen years ago) link

this is like baked potatoes vs mashed potatoes vs french fries

in which case I take waffles. more options. never had anybody try to sell me one with a bunch of cottage cheese involved, either.

El Tomboto, Thursday, 3 January 2008 00:51 (seventeen years ago) link

My initial reaction was that anyone not voting french toast was mentally ill, but I'm getting really hungry for pancakes right now so maybe I am mentally ill.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 3 January 2008 00:53 (seventeen years ago) link

You guys, I was at this diner in Philly last month and they had pancakes WITH ICE CREAM. It was seriously the greatest thing ever. Where have I been?

Morley Timmons, Thursday, 3 January 2008 05:15 (seventeen years ago) link
