Couldn't think of a witty/appropriate thread title, that will have to do.
CBBC star questioned over death Speight has appeared on Heaven and Earth and This Morning BBC children's presenter Mark Speight has been released on police bail after being arrested in connection with a woman's death at a north London house. Presenter Natasha Collins, believed to be Mr Speight's girlfriend, was reportedly found dead in the bath.
Mr Speight, who is the host of CBBC art show SMart, was arrested at the scene on Thursday.
Police said a man in his 40s had been bailed to return to a central London police station next month.
Officers were called to a house in north west London at 1320 GMT on 3 January after reports of the sudden death of a woman in her thirties.
A post mortem examination will be carried out later.
Religious show
According to reports, Mr Speight and Ms Collins shared a house in the St Johns Wood area.
The couple appeared together on BBC children's programme See It Saw It.
Mr Speight, who was born and raised in Wolverhampton, has also appeared on the BBC's religious show Heaven and Earth and ITV1's This Morning.

I finde this guy really annoying
he used to have this awful bit on some art tv programme (not smART) where kids sent in scribbles and he would majestically turn them into real pictures. It was always like, "and that scribble is a bit of graffitti and in front of it is the spice girls" or "the scribble is a bit of hair on a comb and next to it is a boat" and like why was a kid's art show just celebrating the talent of this idiot who wasn't even talented anyway instead of being like "you can do it too, kids" it was like, "I am the alchemist turning your worthless doodles into masterpieces" even though he only once in a while actually made the scribble seem like part of the drawing.

I hope they send him to the chair, AND I'LL PULL THE LEVER
― Dom Passantino, Friday, 4 January 2008 11:38 (seventeen years ago)
This might seem like a slight story, but this will be all over the media tonight/tomorrow.
Also, I guess the BBC are pulling all episodes of SMArt off the CBBC channel.

Kevin Greening? Or Mark Oaten? It says Natasha Collins was a presenter too, but I don't know her
― Tom D., Friday, 4 January 2008 11:57 (seventeen years ago)
I googled a pic, got one where 'she' is wearing a jester outfit. I say 'she' as I don't know if it's that Natasha Collins or someone else with the same name.

To think she died before she got the change to listen to Duffy.

Hey, I've had a great idea. Let's all take the piss out of the grief stricken tv presenter who's lying cold on a mortuary slab after topping himself.

this is absolutely tragic and there's nothing more to add really other than the tone of this thread is repugnant
― czn, Monday, 14 April 2008 10:38 (seventeen years ago)
one more thing to add - though I'm with czn - and though I have never really previously heard of either of the people involved. I was thinking about it in the small hours this morning and thinking how a couple (2) has been reduced to nothing (0). Imagine if you knew that couple, they were friends of yours. if one of them died, somehow, awful: you would seek to comfort the other. but to lose both of them! the whole pair wiped out, by some tragic logic.
