Sedona! I was just there over xmas. It's amazingly beautiful, regardless of the mysticism. My wife picked up a "scientific" book on vortices, which has some great diagrams.

new age music

bell_labs, Saturday, 5 January 2008 22:12 (seventeen years ago)

Sedona is full of all these cheesy galleries packed with HDR-like photographs of Sedona and paintings of native Americans in mystical surroundings.

libcrypt, Saturday, 5 January 2008 22:14 (seventeen years ago)

sedona. new age music if it's made before 1978, bonus points if it's from continental europe.

sedona.

Whoa, I don't even know what most of these are. Shirley MacLaine has been in at least 2 good movies (The Apartment, Being There) so I voted for her.

Sundar, Saturday, 5 January 2008 23:22 (seventeen years ago)

Fuck "Sedona"

I had to go with starseeds after I googled it and found out what it is!

"Starseeds are individuals who feel excitement and longing upon learning that they might have originated from another world. They experience the aloneness and separateness that is the human condition, but also have the sense of being foreigners on this planet. They find the behavior and motives of our society puzzling and illogical. Starseeds are often most reluctant to become involved in the institutions of society, e.g. political, economic, health care, etc. Even at an early age, they tend to discern the hidden agendas of such conventions with unusual clarity."

With all this excitement and longing for an unknown and half-remembered home planet, these poor unfortunate individuals are puzzled by the actions of so-called humanity and many of them walk among us, they may even be our co-workers or spouses! Far out.

I voted for "channeling" though I would have selected "orgone energy" were it available as an option.

Ponies are horse children (Abbott), Wednesday, 7 April 2010 18:19 (fifteen years ago)

I went for Shirley MacLaine, the choice for those who can't bear to choose just one delusion. She's like a one-stop supermarket for New Age hogwash. She probably has the cleanest hogs this side of Sagittarius.

Aimless, Wednesday, 7 April 2010 18:40 (fifteen years ago)

I read that as "she probably has the cleanest hog tits" and was more than a little concerned for both you & her.

I consulted my spirit guide for this vote. He told me that all the options were just aspects of one truth, so that any vote is actually a vote for the same thing: universal harmony.

Il suffit de ne pas l'envier (Michael White), Wednesday, 7 April 2010 20:42 (fifteen years ago)

One of the things I picked up from a Michael Shermer book I finished is that weird beliefs tend to be gendered; dudes are into stuff like ufos or the loch ness monsters, chicks tend to be into new age stuff and astrology.

Apropos of nothing, of course

requiem for crunk (kingfish), Wednesday, 7 April 2010 20:42 (fifteen years ago)

pro-monster, anti-ufo, pro-new age, anti-astrology

check me out imagining new gender paradigms

Today someone asked me what a 'Spirit Animal' was. I said basically re-appropriated hippie bullshit for hipster art kids.
