Should I call in sick tomorrow?

i called in sick a couple of weeks ago, when i wasn't really sick, just kind of worn out. but now i'm legit sneezing in fits and all sorts of congested. i'm also kind of nauseous, and i'm not sure i should be sharing all this with the office.

although we have a busy season coming up, i can probably avoid getting under the weather too much in the next few months if just take care of myself a little better.

so come on, tell me to stay home. or promptly divulge any horror stories of how you once called in sick twice in 2 weeks and then got fired.

OMG! hmm.....

I did that once, too, but that is a long and more complicated story than I wish to share. Also it is v v dull.

It's the responsible thing for yourself and others around you to call in sick when you are gross and useless and contagious. Lets you recoup, keeps everyone else from dying to death like you are now.

Yours in sickness,

I took a few too many "sanity days" this past year and got a couple of stern talking-tos but govt work being what it is I would kind of have to kill an innocnt citizen and then improperly charge the time to actually get the boot

If you're sick you're sick. Don't take more pretend sickies and you'll be right.

i know, i try and remember that people would really rather not be sneezed on... OMG! i'm watching Serpico and Al Pacino just asked this woman "well, why don't you call in sick?"

sign?

i don't know, HR just told me i have 7 "Paid Time Off" days I can use before July (and i also keep accruing them until then). so that's pretty good.

i have never called in sick.

at my high school bakery job, though, my boss knocked me down the stairs with an aluminum tray. the fall impaled my forearm on a nail, and sent me straight into a concussion.

it hurt my head to talk, so i had my mom call me in sick the next day. boss made fun of me for like the next two weeks.

so wen you guyz say "too many", what exactly does that mean?

um WOW that sounds harrowing, remy

Surmounter, Monday, 7 January 2008 06:18 (seventeen years ago)

haha, it was a pretty awesome fall -- and was caught on the security tape. boss gave it to me as a parting gift when i left the bakery 3 years later.

lol tombot, i feel kind of the same way about working in non profit arts, esp at the bottom of the ladder -- i think i would have to like run onstage screaming during a show or wear a miniskirt to a benefit to really be in trouble .

::sneeze?::

Surmounter, Monday, 7 January 2008 06:21 (seventeen years ago)

and btw my sneezes are not like little girl sneezes (how do girls do those little squeaky sneezes??), they're like full respiratory system situations.

remy pls to youtube that shit!

tehresa, Monday, 7 January 2008 06:26 (seventeen years ago)

i wish i had it still: dad recorded an episode of mystery! over it. perhaps tomorrow i start a thread called 'tales from your high school job'

Hahah this is so fucking OTM (esp the time sheet). A guy threw a chair at the boss at my foreign office job and they just made him have "stress leave" for a while.
