Sore Elbows, why?

So my elbows are often really sore. Like if I lean them on something hard, at the end of a day of work or whatever, they get a sort of deep pain inside the bone.

Is this "tennis elbow"? I read about it and it sounds a bit like it. The pain is quite disproportionate to the pressure applied, eg I can be just sitting with them resting on the chair and it'll hurt.

Anyone else get this? If I have been swimming it seems to be more intense.

do you have them sitting on a desk all day, even at 'normal' pressure? my elbows can get a little touchy after a work day

yeah sometimes, kind of on the arms of the chair.

Ha, I had severe olecranon bursitis recently. If it swells up and you can feel fluid, then the best thing is to wait for it to go down. Maybe take some antiseptic just in case. Also, threaten your coworkers with puncture and release. They'll love you for it.

do you type a lot? it sounds like it's to due tension in other areas (hands, wrists, arms, etc.), i get the same thing from sitting at a computer and sometimes drumming.

i just try to make sure i'm relaxed, stretch, and i rub the muscles just behind/above the elbow a lot.

I get itchy, dry elbow skin. Solution: lotion.

I get this too, just lean on shit w/ my forearm instead of my elbows when it gets too bad.

The ting with leaning on your elbows is that you think you're putting no weight on them, but your arms weigh a fair bit -- we're trained to feel like they weigh nothing, after all! -- and while your muscles are used to the stress of supporting your arms, your elbows? not so much! especially if you're leaning on them practically all day for weeks!

alternatively, buy elbow pads.

Some people look at sore elbows and ask 'why?' I dream of sore elbows that never were and ask 'why not?'

I started to develop cubital tunnel a couple months ago and these helped me a lot.

According to The Guide To Getting it On, a large number of cases of tennis elbow come from a different repetetive strain motion other than tennis.

Are you saying I masturbate while playing tennis?

Ronan, Wednesday, 9 January 2008 10:53 (eighteen years ago)

That's ridiculous. Women don't play tennis.

You can "take" an antiseptic?

Laurel, Wednesday, 9 January 2008 19:20 (eighteen years ago)

BRB, it's time for my peroxide chaser.
