Oh I have just watched this !
It was pretty fun (I actually laughed a few times).
with all reserve mentioned by many upthread (some very silly parts and a so-so final).

so this is just like another genre pick sandwiched into the nebulous mythology of the last films? (not complaining if it is; I really loved Cloverfield Lane)

Evan R, Monday, 5 February 2018 14:51 (eight years ago)

yes.

easily the worst of the 3, though. if you like crazy things happening because SPACE, it's ok for a dose of that.

Cloverfield Lane would have been much better without the alien weirdness coda or any connection to the 'mythology', imo.

So this was crappy, a pretty flagrant attempt to repackage a movie I wouldn't watch as something I'd be interested in. Seems almost like a franchise killer; like, who'd be excited for a fourth Cloverfield movie now?

The plot was basically Coherence, but in space, which should be interesting but it was not. I did briefly get excited when they made earth disappear, though.

Evan R, Tuesday, 6 February 2018 15:00 (eight years ago)

the fourth one is a WW2 zombie flick apparently ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Number None, Tuesday, 6 February 2018 18:33 (eight years ago)

lmao I was sure you were joking

So forgive my ignorance but the Evil Dead II tribute is intentional, isn’t it?

I fell asleep during Paradox and don't have a desire to rewatch based on what I saw.
