I gave my two grade 6 social studies classes a mapping quiz today. As basic as could be, getting them ready for next week's unit test--just name the continents, oceans, and (Canadian) provinces and territories. Not even locate them on a map, just name them.
One of my girls--very sweet, not a good student--named Neverland as one of the continents. Such a perfect metaphor for where this particular girl's head is at.
