Pirates vs. Ninjas vs. Robots vs. Zombies vs. Unknown

Pirates = most people I know download music and or movies/tv

Robots = make cars

Ninjas = make terrible movies

Zombies = five shots of booze in a too-sweet drink

Better go with unknown, and Zombies as a runner up

I read somewhere about the necessary elements of a good movie. These were the 4 of them. Whether it is true or not, I think it would be cool seeing each one of them die.

Zombies ALWAYS prevail, somehow.

Movie pitches:

(1) pirate crews band together to defend themselves against a robot battleship sent from the future to retrieve a treasure

(2) Dark-Ages European villagers buy a "powerful weapon" from a mysterious eastern traveler, and release it against marauding Viking hordes (it is a zombified ninja that turns other people into zombie ninjas)

(3) in an old-west town populated by orangutans, a sheriff must hold the line against an influx of mummies

(4) a gang of bikers are also wizards, and are transported back in time to face off against the Mongol horde

The first four are general memes that seem to be kind of internet spawned that have realllllly worn on me:

2. Ninjas - real ultimate power, fuck that noize

1. Pirates - Talk like a pirate day, I hate your ass

3. Robots - everyone has always liked them, but fucking internet 1997 (cannot hate on robots tho)

4. Zombies - I think what this actually means is "Ate My Balls" web pages.

So like I hate general "whoa fucking pirates are badass!" or "I got ninja-like skills bro" type exclamations. Plus I think ALL of these things have been in Barenaked Ladies songs (maybe all were in "One Week").

Somewhere there's a thread where someone made a timeline in the 2000s of Zombies/Robots/Pirates/etc.

Anyway, a friend of mine who teaches undergrad creative writing says that her students are writing a lot about dinosaurs, which leads me (along with other clues) to think that dinosaurs are what comes after pirates, robots, and zombies.

I think robots are the only one of these not completely fucked-out; but give ninja a few years, they'll be back.
