"In last week’s column, I mistakenly attributed a quotation from Michael Medved to Michelle Malkin. I regret the error."

i think the actual quote was: "Leftist abortionist infidels will burn in damnation for all of eternity." so you can see how he might have been confused...

If you're wrong often enough, you've got a good chance of winning a spot on the NYT's losing half of their staff. Hell, even Thomas Friedman and David Brooks need company.

thomas friedman /= conservative
the public editor's column in sunday's paper about kristol's hiring was pretty hilar.

why does the times still publish this guy? the new yorker story last summer that revealed his junkets to alaska & subsequent plugging of sarah "failin" palin should've got him fired. not to mention he couldn't write his way out of a wet paper bag: his slack, smug prose is lame even by the debased standards of NYT op-ed (where gail collins' labored facetiousness is considered satircal wit). at least karl rove's column in the wall street journal is unintentionally hilarious about half the time.

oh lolz guess I've already made my feelings clear on this thread whoops haha
I think he was on a one-year contract (not sure of that), but I haven't heard anything about renewal or cancellation. His first Times column was 1/7/08.
