Illustrator, Photoshop, Xcode, watch movies. And it's a lot easier to do just about anything with more screen real estate.

you could start a thread like this for almost any apple product released since jobs took over. everytime there's a keynote people are all "but the features don't justify the price!" and I'm like "THEN GO TO NEWEGG OR WHATEVER FFS" it's like making jokes about airline food!!

Yeah, Apple products are not as cheap (in several senses of the word) as PCs. If you don't think they're worth the money, don't buy em!

They depreciate in value at a much slower rate than PCs.

I hope they last longer than PCs, because when mine dies, I'm not replacing it with another Mac. I'll be too poor. It's not TWICE as good as a PC but it's almost twice the cost!

It's not always that bad - the 15" MBP w/ 7200rpm upgrade comes out $50 more than a 15" Thinkpad+7200rpm+XP.

Hey the sony TZ which is meant to be the competitor model starts at $2099, of course that is smaller but it has a much slower processor.

David Pogue needs to be curbed.

The trackpad in my two - year old MBA has gone into permanently clicked mode. The battery, housed beneath, seems to be swelling a bit. The downside to this is that I have to use a mouse at all times. I guess there is something to be said for a slightly bigger case after all.

uh, does anyone know how to change the icloud account the macbook uses? i changed my apple id for some stupid reason and it fucked literally everything up, i've cleaned up the mess for the most part but i don't think my phone and laptop are talking because the icloud on my phone has my new ID but the laptop has the old one. going to icloud settings doesn't let you change the apple id box...

The users and groups pref pane? I can see a set apple ID button there.

i think i just had to delete my iclouds and sign in with new ones. i think i lost some stuff in the transfer, but whatever. way to suck, apple

xp huh, i just went to that and it already has my new ID, must have changed when i signed in with the new account. but maybe doing that first would have been better. ah well
