I don't know - people kept saying that, but Fatima was the type to expose/enlarge peoples' flaws, whereas Whitney just kind of.. Complained and came off as fake, IMHO. I think Fatima's form of bitchiness was far more severe.

I'd call this a symbolic victory, but this is ANTM: if it's not symbolic, it's as good as symbolic. However, earlier this week, I received an email from a source that would like to remain nameless (and, clearly, close to my heart) that suggests this victory is super-symbolic The mystery woman writes:

I debated on whether to share this given my source and you may have heard this already...The source is this wonderfully chatty boy in one of my classes...who says he went to high school with Whitney. The claim is that Whitney did not try out for top model but was approached on a plane by someone from the show. She was already doing modeling as a size 2 or 4 but because she was closer to a 4 she was a little too big for the show as a regular model. They told her that if she went and gained 10-20 pounds they would definitely put her on the show as "the plus-size model". She's about a 6 or 8 on the show. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it were true (knowing nothing about women's sizes, I'd guess close to a 4 is about right in those shots). At the very least, the pictures tend to refute Whitney's sob stories (heard most recently in the final moments of the show) about being teased for being curvaceous. Of course, given that it's at least third-hand information,this could merely be one of those things that make you go hmmm.

In any event, none of this is to diminish Whitney's hard work standing around and being fierce. Having the plus-sized girl win is a nice touch, and I'm never mad at a good plot point, no matter how contrived.

i think it's less to do with whitney's weight than the fact that she just wasn't as good or believable a model as anya. anya won like, 4 competitions and whitney was on the chopping block how many times? anyway, it's a tv show with a plot and a destination and a need for drama, like any other tv show ... if antm was looking for the type of models you see regularly on runways or magazines the top 3 would have been anya, katarzyna and lauren

I don't think that I ever felt any suspense when Whitney was in the bottom two because her narrative was total fait accompli, and even though "Where's the saran wrap" will reside warmly in my heart, she could be a remarkable douche, though maybe I'm letting my LOL HUEG prejudice get a hold of me. I never liked her pictures, either, and seeing as Lauren hated her, that's good enough for me.

Anyway, I wouldn't cry for Anya as supposedly Elite already signed her. Was her CG ad really that bad? My reception's audio fritzed out during that whole segment.

Admittedly, I did not watch every episode with bated breath. BUUTTT - Anya doesn't really seem to be able to speak English. Not that that's a requirement for a model, but...where is that accent from? And so many of her observations seemed to be: " OMG we're going on a shoot with water! Lots of things like water!"

I liked Claire - was there a Claire? - and Lauren.

Dominique didn't start looking like a model until week 5. Marvita's only crime was letting the judges get into her head and throw her off her game; had she stayed fierce, she would have been top 4.
