since I just said to someone the other day, "I had to get a haircut, I was starting to look dangerously indie," I hafta go with the stupid fucking hair option.

I can't be indie if those are the choices. Yet plenty of ppl on ILX have told me that I am indie, and maybe even criticized me for it in a gentle, jokey sort of way. Actually, that is missing the point somewhat, they actually criticize me for *still* being indie, wheeras they *used* to be but have now...I dunno, grown out of it? moved on? like pop now, coz it's cool to? One of those things, or a combination.

Maybe if my dad *had* been in senior management then I would have been more obviously indie and have the appropriate haircut and clothes, not to mention a larger record collection. So maybe I was saved from being too ludicrous by my relative poverty.

Maybe check with the other threads to see if you're a "bro", "bruv", "chav", or "emo".

Is there much difference between "indie rock" and "indie pop" really? Apart from the latter are often even more prickish about other types of music?
