Tax Gurus--Contractor work?

i'm going to use the TurboTax software's live chat when they're back open, but I'm trying to finish my taxes early to help pay for a trip (I am again getting back over a grand).

I earned over $500 this past winter doing paid Christmas Caroling gigs, as an independent contractor, but only $165 of it was paid in tax year 2007. Therefore, they are not required to submit to me a 1099-R form, nor am I required to pay self-employment tax.

The company pays us as independent contractors, but are not required to report the income to the IRS or furnish me with a tax document due to how little I made.

Am I, then, required to report this income? If so, where do I report it? Obviously on Turbotax I can't put it in with income earned on a 1099-MISC. There's another box however that is 'general income'. Would it go there?

It changes my refund by all of about $20 but I don't want any issues!
