The electronic reading system, what happened to the concept of being beside your children and reading to them ?

Its this book hooked up to electronics of some sort and when one pushes an electronic pen across the text, it reads aloud.

sort of like what your mother used to do to teach you to read .

it may have been orignially, but its being marketed by hasbro as a tool for children

The TV ad is really funny. Very careful to show both well-meaning, concerned parents who are simply SO BIZZY moving house that they don't have time to read to their child and are SO GLAD she's amusing herself productively while they get work done. Warm fuzzy family vibes all round.
