Mark G, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:08 (eighteen years ago)

not enough nice people for the zingers to poke fun at.

darraghmac, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:09 (eighteen years ago)

ken c, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:09 (eighteen years ago)

DG, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:09 (eighteen years ago)

I long for the better days of 2007.

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 28 January 2008 17:11 (eighteen years ago)

oh! 2007. great year.

darraghmac, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:13 (eighteen years ago)

I remember the time when ILE and I ate spaghetti from the same plate. Oh, how we laughed!

Aimless, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:14 (eighteen years ago)

Post like you live in the early days of a better message board.

kenan, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:15 (eighteen years ago)

i quaver at the thought of 2009 and what it means for ILX.

darraghmac, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:17 (eighteen years ago)

we won't even have luna.

darraghmac, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:18 (eighteen years ago)

but LJ will be back!

Mark G, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:20 (eighteen years ago)

if only we had changeable usernames

DG, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:21 (eighteen years ago)

and could embed flash and use html and css

kenan, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:21 (eighteen years ago)

and ban ban ban. everyone should have mod privileges. go out with a bang

darraghmac, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:22 (eighteen years ago)

we certainly need new mods. the current bunch are like a mob of down's syndrome oompa-loompas

DG, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:23 (eighteen years ago)

i don't know which group thats harsher on

darraghmac, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:24 (eighteen years ago)

DS sufferers or oompa loompas, that is. not mods.

darraghmac, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:24 (eighteen years ago)

darraghmac out

ken c, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:25 (eighteen years ago)

God created Arrakis ILE to train the faithful.

-- The Wisdom of Muad'Dib, by the Princess Irulan (Dune)

Daniel, Esq., Monday, 28 January 2008 17:27 (eighteen years ago)

just cos i don't like art, dave kitson or jol. harsh

darraghmac, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:28 (eighteen years ago)

there are still flashes of brilliance. like felicity r3dwell repping for Nascar.

the abscence of the 'random' button has hurt ILE, it's just the same threads atop New Answers for days. And no changeable names is a lol-censor.

wanko ergo sum, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:31 (eighteen years ago)

Srsly. The ILE threads I've been reading lately have included a lot of posters with sour dispositions, rather like a lot of irritable drunks discussing what ticks them off. I blame the Bush administration.

On the bright side, there must be a hit C&W song to be written out of all this malaise and testiness.

Aimless, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:35 (eighteen years ago)

i think it's also a bit of that january "most depressing time of the year" effect. At least, I know it is for me.

kenan, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:36 (eighteen years ago)

Also, otm re: random button. Sorely missed.

Aimless, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:39 (eighteen years ago)

Just me or is ILX pretty damn cranky lately?

Embarchie, Monday, 28 January 2008 17:41 (eighteen years ago)

great thread

DG, Monday, 28 January 2008 19:00 (eighteen years ago)

i remember how ilx used to be back in the old days. there was a lot of hope, a lot of important discourse, fresh ideas, optimism.

9/11 changed everything.

omar little, Monday, 28 January 2008 19:20 (eighteen years ago)

The day Kennedy was shot was truly the day ILX lost its innocence.

It's all those smug middle-class posters taking their offspring to private messageboards, leaving the comprehensive messageboard system to bear the brunt of the recession.

Dingbod Kesterson, Tuesday, 29 January 2008 11:37 (eighteen years ago)

This may be worse than ILM getting ruined by heavy metal.

ken c, Tuesday, 29 January 2008 11:41 (eighteen years ago)

I think you're mixing up ILM with the Houses of Parliament there.

were the 12 who voted 'strongly disagree' the only ones who noticed the lex was gone?

omar little, Thursday, 14 February 2008 02:04 (eighteen years ago)

I think I said 'strongly disagree,' and I think it was because ilx doesn't seem to be as sensitive/precious as it was a couple of years ago.

Autumn Almanac, Thursday, 14 February 2008 02:35 (eighteen years ago)

blame minnesota

El Tomboto, Thursday, 14 February 2008 02:38 (eighteen years ago)

Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels,
the dizzy dancing way you feel
when every fairy tale turns real.
I've looked at ILE that way.

But now it's just another show.
You leave 'em laughing when you go
and if you care, don't let them know,
don't give yourself away.

Tears and fears and feeling proud,
to say "I Love Everything" right out loud,
dreams and schemes and circus crowds,
I've looked at ILE that way.

But now ILE friends are acting strange,
they shake their heads, they say I've changed.
Something's lost but something's gained
in posting every day.

I've looked at ILE from both sides now,
from give and take, and still somehow
it's ILE's illusions I recall.
I really don't know ILE at all.

Aimless, Thursday, 14 February 2008 02:52 (eighteen years ago)

I'm not complaining cause it's not like I contribute anything of substance. you'll get no fucking joie de vivre from me today either; to the extent that I can even bear to be looking at a screen I'll mostly be grumping up the hangover thread.
