Trayce, Friday, 1 February 2008 00:58 (eighteen years ago)

energy flash gordon, Friday, 1 February 2008 01:24 (eighteen years ago)

I'm going to SY...but in tha ADL, natch.

King Boy Pato, Friday, 1 February 2008 02:02 (eighteen years ago)

Ed Kuepper died pretty? I doubt that.

moley, Friday, 1 February 2008 04:12 (eighteen years ago)

I used dearth at work today. Apparently it's a 'big word.'

Autumn Almanac, Friday, 1 February 2008 05:19 (eighteen years ago)

Oh dear.

Trayce, Friday, 1 February 2008 05:21 (eighteen years ago)

One syllable, but what a syllable. Recently I was upbraided for using the word 'bough', which no-one had ever heard of. On another occasion, an editor questioned my use of the word 'angst', and was adamant I had made it up.

moley, Friday, 1 February 2008 06:54 (eighteen years ago)

Obviously he wasn't an emo.

S-, Friday, 1 February 2008 06:55 (eighteen years ago)

people like that are annoying, if i feel like saying 'lugubrious', i do.

estela, Friday, 1 February 2008 07:06 (eighteen years ago)

Sometimes I wonder why I have trouble getting work when I have worked with, and seen others work with, such morans.

Trayce, Friday, 1 February 2008 07:07 (eighteen years ago)

Perhaps what I just said is why.

Trayce, Friday, 1 February 2008 07:07 (eighteen years ago)

Who are the Rogue Traders and when are they going to show some footage of the people playing the music, 'cause it sure as hell isn't the keyboardist and guitarist.

S-, Friday, 1 February 2008 10:02 (eighteen years ago)

I'm not going to SY as I'll be in sheepfuxxland, but I might not have gone anyway because I had a bad experience with inescapable crowd violence at SY gig in Auckland. Should be exciting though; I hope I get to go to one of those Don't Look Backs sometime. (Spiderland!). What's the Metro like?

I'm thinking of going to Cat Power in Castlemaine (never seen her; never been to C-maine either), mostly so I can avoid the crush of the Forum.

spectra, Saturday, 2 February 2008 00:59 (eighteen years ago)

P and I just saw a woman get bashed.

Autumn Almanac, Saturday, 2 February 2008 08:08 (eighteen years ago)

Wait WAHT... when/where are Slint doing a Dont look back gig!>?!>! I MUST KNOW THISES.

I bought a pair of English doc martens for $10 today. Second hand, exactly my size, beautifully worn in. Thank you universe.

Trayce, Saturday, 2 February 2008 11:20 (eighteen years ago)

what happened adam??

electricsound, Saturday, 2 February 2008 11:23 (eighteen years ago)

We were driving in E St Kilda and a guy on a motorbike came off the pavement and nearly went under our car. It then pulled off the road ahead of us and the woman on the back (no helmet), who had been yelling, got off and ran across the road. The driver followed her on foot (nearly going under our car again) and tackled her to the pavement REALLY violently. The look on his face was terrifying.

We turned off, parked and called the police. 'Er indoors kept trying to go back there to help the woman (that's her impulse, despite the danger imposed) and I had to keep physically pulling her back while giving information to the police.

We drove past there ~45 minutes later and no emergency vehicles were there, so I assume she's at least not dead, but jesus. Sorry for mentioning it here, was in a very weird frame of mind last night, had to let it out somewhere.

Autumn Almanac, Saturday, 2 February 2008 22:26 (eighteen years ago)

Trayce - in the UK and Spain, cpl other European places and in New York. This was mid-2007.

King Boy Pato, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 13:55 (seventeen years ago)

Haha!

We spent way too much money on drinks at a friend's birthday party, leaving us with about $150 til next Thurs. I can see the change jar making one of its periodic trips to the bank's sorting machine. We can stretch it, but there's going to be a few vegemite sandwiches along the way. Quite possibly a big pot of leek and potato soup too.

moley, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 22:28 (seventeen years ago)

OH man, Dillinger Escape Plan and Helmet are both touring in may. I need more money.

Trayce, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 23:03 (seventeen years ago)

for earplugs?

electricsound, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 23:33 (seventeen years ago)

bank's sorting machine

tell us more.. i have more change than i can deal with and would like to get it sorted

electricsound, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 23:33 (seventeen years ago)

Last time I went to the bank with a large bag o change, they had to count it by hand because they didn't HAVE a sorting machine o_O They can weigh money in those $20 worth of 50c bits bags, but you gotta make sure you get it right to start with.

Well that was at my shitty whichbank branch anyway.

Trayce, Thursday, 10 April 2008 00:28 (seventeen years ago)

yeah that's always been my experience too. a mechanical sorting dealie would be well handy

electricsound, Thursday, 10 April 2008 00:29 (seventeen years ago)

my change jar has around $300 in it

electricsound, Thursday, 10 April 2008 00:30 (seventeen years ago)

it is an enormous doraemon

electricsound, Thursday, 10 April 2008 00:30 (seventeen years ago)

Apparently they charge you for that now.

Autumn Almanac, Thursday, 10 April 2008 00:54 (seventeen years ago)

electricsound, Thursday, 10 April 2008 00:55 (seventeen years ago)

Autumn Almanac, Thursday, 10 April 2008 00:58 (seventeen years ago)

australian bank in "charges customer for trivial services" shocker, film at 11

haitch, Thursday, 10 April 2008 01:05 (seventeen years ago)

that is correct, i do xpost

it's worse in NZ apaz, they charge you for breathing near money let alone doing anything useful with it

electricsound, Thursday, 10 April 2008 01:05 (seventeen years ago)

Well R does it - we don't have to pay at the C0mmonwe@lth because she has an account there. They have a mechanical sorter there.

moley, Thursday, 10 April 2008 01:09 (seventeen years ago)

is the machine called presto change-o?

electricsound, Thursday, 10 April 2008 01:12 (seventeen years ago)

We spent way too much money on drinks at a friend's birthday party, leaving us with about $150 til next Thurs.

electricsound, Thursday, 10 April 2008 02:10 (seventeen years ago)

is the machine called presto change-o?

-- electricsound

I believe it's called the Silver Machine

moley, Thursday, 10 April 2008 02:41 (seventeen years ago)

electricsound, Thursday, 10 April 2008 02:43 (seventeen years ago)

haitch, Thursday, 10 April 2008 02:51 (seventeen years ago)

Autumn Almanac, Thursday, 10 April 2008 03:27 (seventeen years ago)

it's worse in NZ apaz, they charge you for breathing near money let alone doing anything useful with it

A sheepfux friend o mine told me that their EFTPOS doesnt have fees tho, so you could like, buy a fiddy cent paper on EFTPOS and not have any probs.

Trayce, Thursday, 10 April 2008 03:32 (seventeen years ago)

that's how it should be everywhere. i'd prefer to have free eftpos and be charged for using cash

electricsound, Thursday, 10 April 2008 03:43 (seventeen years ago)

For real, I hate carrying cashes around.

Trayce, Thursday, 10 April 2008 03:44 (seventeen years ago)

I have the NAB "gold" thingy where it's a flat $12/month. It may or may not be good value but I don't really care.

wilter, Thursday, 10 April 2008 03:47 (seventeen years ago)

$12 a month? sounds like it should be called the NAB golden shower

electricsound, Thursday, 10 April 2008 03:51 (seventeen years ago)

Ha yuh. also a visa debit card. It's just pleasing to not have to worry about going to a specific atm.

wilter, Thursday, 10 April 2008 03:59 (seventeen years ago)

ah ok i see. that probably doesn't work out all that bad if you take into account yearly c/c fees

electricsound, Thursday, 10 April 2008 04:00 (seventeen years ago)

I try and stick to whichbank ATMs but I'm getting reamed cause of my Visa fees, I'm about to port my card over to HSBC for a 6 month interest free deal and try and pay off as much of it as I can (its a lot though, I'll probably only manage to get halfway paid off on my pissy salary)

Trayce, Thursday, 10 April 2008 05:00 (seventeen years ago)

Remember kids: don't buy laptop PCs on credit :|

Trayce, Thursday, 10 April 2008 05:00 (seventeen years ago)

haitch, Thursday, 10 April 2008 05:39 (seventeen years ago)

electricsound, Thursday, 10 April 2008 05:45 (seventeen years ago)

Geez I owe $7k and thats bad enough.

Trayce, Thursday, 10 April 2008 06:03 (seventeen years ago)

I have a coworker who claims to owe $60k on various C/Cs.

She does get a few calls a week at work and she always tells the secretaries to tell them she's not in :|

wilter, Thursday, 10 April 2008 06:09 (seventeen years ago)

Her ex-husband, who is a complete psycho, also recently pulled a knife on her O_o

wilter, Thursday, 10 April 2008 06:10 (seventeen years ago)
