I have never seen Lost.

Abbott, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:04 (seventeen years ago)

I don't have time to get addicted to another thing.

Abbott, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:04 (seventeen years ago)

i have but i wish i hadn't

DG, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:04 (seventeen years ago)

I saw a minute of Lost, subtitled with the sound off, in a bar once.

Eazy, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:05 (seventeen years ago)

I watched a couple episodes in a row while in India in 04 - haven't seen it since. it was okay.

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:06 (seventeen years ago)

I saw part of an ad, I think. And I saw a magazine feature about a Lost video game featuring a creepily well-rendered longhair fatty jub.

Abbott, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:06 (seventeen years ago)

The title font is IMPACT, wtf.

Abbott, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:06 (seventeen years ago)

I saw about 15 minutes of the first ep, maybe. I ain't falling for that "watch 100+ hours of TV just to find out some secret that makes no sense and isn't v. interesting" schtick that easy.

i've seen a couple episodes and had no idea what the hell was going on. it was kind of intriguing but i'm so lazy i'm not sure i want to go back and watch all the episodes.

i wish i could say i was too busy, hahaha.

latebloomer, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:10 (seventeen years ago)

I hear its about a bunch of people that can't get off an island.

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:11 (seventeen years ago)

i think it's so awesome that you guys have never seen Lost! now, how many of you have never heard Townes Van Zandt? also how many of you have never read Tortilla Flats? anxiously awaiting your answers!!!

No you're thinking of Hogan's Heroes.

Noodle Vague, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:13 (seventeen years ago)

i love not knowing what is going on in the show but then reading parts of the Lost thread, it is entertaining:

"OMG did you see the polar bear had a submachine gun this week, WTF."

"Dude, that wasn't a submachine gun, the Dharma tea made Jack hallucinate he was in trapped inside a Coca Cola commercial during the Super Bowl, noob."

Mr. Que, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:13 (seventeen years ago)

I don't have time to get addicted to another thing.

Cosign. (This is not a criticism of the show, it's just an honest reaction!)

Ned Raggett, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:13 (seventeen years ago)

That is like when I was 15 and thought I was totally punk rock for listening to Oingo Boingo.

Abbott, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:14 (seventeen years ago)

Wait, no it isn't.

Abbott, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:14 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah exackly I wasn't criticising the show so much as the "need to watch a shit-bunch of episodes to get a pay-off" routine.

Noodle Vague, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:15 (seventeen years ago)

I've never seen Lost. As with Twin Peaks, my plan is to wait until the whole thing has been over for 10 years, then rent the full set on DVD.

Jaq, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:15 (seventeen years ago)

nah just read the wikipedia entry

DG, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:15 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, I tried doing that with Twin Peaks though and found it to be only an effective soporific.

Abbott, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:16 (seventeen years ago)

lol i did it that with Harry Potter.

Noodle Vague, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:16 (seventeen years ago)

doctor who works so much better as a series of wikipedia entries too

DG, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:16 (seventeen years ago)

The writing style is really dull, though.

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:18 (seventeen years ago)

The writing style of Wikipedia is like the NPR cadence: boring fucking oatmeal monotone.

Abbott, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:18 (seventeen years ago)

I've never seen the Patrick Swayze tv show RENAGADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

chaki, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:18 (seventeen years ago)

there's no excuse on a wiki! just add a few 'hen faps' to it

DG, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:18 (seventeen years ago)

Wasn't Renegade Lorenzo Lamas? (God help me for remembering that.)

Ned Raggett, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:19 (seventeen years ago)

the cloverfield wiki has saved me about £10 and the vague effort it takes to leave the house

DG, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:20 (seventeen years ago)

This is a good thread idea, DG.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:23 (seventeen years ago)

if only there was an ILM wiki then i'd really never have to read it

DG, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:24 (seventeen years ago)

Abbott, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:25 (seventeen years ago)

I really don't think I could get addicted to anything starring The Great Matthew Perry

Dr Morbius, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:25 (seventeen years ago)

oh hang on there is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Love_Music

DG, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:26 (seventeen years ago)

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:26 (seventeen years ago)

Dr Morbius, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:26 (seventeen years ago)

latebloomer, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:30 (seventeen years ago)

I haven't ever seen 'Lost' and probably never will.

Michael White, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:30 (seventeen years ago)

me neither. I hate everybody involved. and the premise. and sitcoms.

x-post

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:30 (seventeen years ago)

Gilligan's Island taught me the plot of "Hamlet." They did a musical of it in one episode.

dudes people watch lost cause they enjoy it not as work to get to the end.

jhøshea, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:38 (seventeen years ago)

I just quit smoking, dudes, but even then I do not have time to fill with Lost. Is not the Young Ones a lot like Lost?

Abbott, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:39 (seventeen years ago)

This is like a TV show for 9/11 truthers when they run out of actual material to stay sharp right?

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:40 (seventeen years ago)

No, The Young Ones is about some funny British people of varying musical subcultures.

Abbott, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:42 (seventeen years ago)

not even. its soap opera for boys just like your precious ST:TNG except with better acting and writing.

Bonita Applebum, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:46 (seventeen years ago)

says someone on an internet forum

DG, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:49 (seventeen years ago)

I saw the first 10 episodes and got turned off and stopped watching. After HBO shows, network TV seems really simplistic and dumb. Both Lost and Heroes annoyed me. Main characters are all supermodel-tastic, then there's the fat nerd guy for comic relief, and all the ugly (normal-looking) people are either evil or or mysterious. Cheesy production value, simplistic dialog, one dimensional personalities, predictable plots (maybe not so much in the case of Lost). Cheesy side-stories with the Korean couple, and the Iraqi dude turned me off, too.

I'll probably Netflx the whole series eventually. I'm running out of series to rent.

rockapads, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:50 (seventeen years ago)

liked the 1st series. lost (du-dum tish) interest with series 2. everything took far far too long to happen. was driving me a bit nuts.

titchyschneiderMk2, Friday, 1 February 2008 19:51 (seventeen years ago)

i don't know anyone 'in real life' who has managed to stick with it from the beginning

DG, Friday, 1 February 2008 20:02 (seventeen years ago)

chaki, Friday, 1 February 2008 20:03 (seventeen years ago)

When the iPhone ads showed up last fall in bus shelters all around Chicago, I recognized all of the iconic images (Bono, Britney, whoever), but couldn't figure out who the Patrick Stewart-looking guy was until I saw the Lost promo that ran before Cloverfield.

Eazy, Friday, 1 February 2008 20:19 (seventeen years ago)

thats so awesome

chaki, Friday, 1 February 2008 20:20 (seventeen years ago)
