This sounds so douchey but the overhead footage does look incredibly cool. On other hand when someone stops short in front of me I tend to run into them harder than absolutely necessary so uh...

if this happened in my town I would regard it as at least being cooler than actual tourists and other mass transit amateurs, who if anything can easily fuck your commute up much more effectively with their stop-at-the-top and take-a-while-at-the-turnstile kung fu skills

I wonder if ImprovAnywhere "gigs" are a good place to meet college girls with questionable judgment or should I stick to bars?

somebody should start a counter group called "Improv Nowhere" that just involves sitting in a cafe doing that thing where you -almost- get up to talk to a girl who you just met eyes with, but then you sit down really shy, and then she gets up and leaves and you spend a week regretting it

I -would- like to see Improv Everywhere try this at Penn Station at 8:30 am in front of the LIRR stairs. The ones who survive the stampede of 8 foot tall investment bankers will be whisked away by the homeless and taken prisoner in the mysterious Lost City of Hobos, which resides underground amidst the ruins of the original Penn Station.

Frozen Grand Central is awesome. The guy at the end looks like the TV account manager from Mad Men / Pam NYC love interest from the Office.

This isn't about Improv Everywhere, but it's a "robot/people art" project from a student at NYU that has the same feel to it:

Tweenbots are human-dependent robots that navigate the city with the help of pedestrians they encounter.
Rolling at a constant speed, in a straight line, Tweenbots have a destination displayed on a flag,
and rely on people they meet to read this flag and to aim them in the right direction to reach their goal.

Los Angeles Metro is lucky enough to be included for the second year the Global No Pants Subway Ride going on this Sunday, January 10th at 2 pm.
As usual, it’s put on by Improv Everywhere, who famously conducted one of the cruelest pranks ever pulled on an unsuspecting target back in 2004, which they call “Best Gig Ever”. (Later documented by This American Life.)

We just want to help get the word out there on the No Pants Ride so no one thinks these mass sudden movements on crowded public transit are some kind of coordinated terrorist plot. With all this “Underwear Bomber” stuff going on these days, days you can never be too sure. Some meathead sitting next you on the train might try to be a hero and go all “Let’s Roll!” on your ass. Or even worse, a jumpy subway cop might just shoot you as you whip off your belt (looking at you, Mexico City).

Discovered this thread as I was cleaning out bookmarks. Happy that pandemic rules have effectively shut down their reign of terror.
