self-employment tax?

sarahell, Tuesday, 1 April 2014 17:36 (eleven years ago)

nah i own a corporation so i am withheld just like anybody - 2 years ago our combined income bumped like $100 into the next tax bracket so we are getting the big end of the hammer. srsly considered cutting my salary to kick us out of it, but i am a "take my goddamn money and build some schools and shit" lefty type so i would feel like a prick for gaming the system honestly. and fuck it, i get to buy the stuff i want so how dare i complain, just sucks when you watch the turbotax refund column erase in front of your eyes.

Corpsepaint Counterpaint (jjjusten), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 17:48 (eleven years ago)

so you can always increase your withholding!

sarahell, Tuesday, 1 April 2014 17:52 (eleven years ago)

well heh let me redefine boned, it is more a "awww wahh instead of a refund we have to slightly pay in" im not talking thousands of dollars here. i am living the annoying but correct "you should never get a refund because all you are doing is not having your money interest free" lifestyle my dad always advanced

Corpsepaint Counterpaint (jjjusten), Tuesday, 1 April 2014 17:54 (eleven years ago)

i had to remind myself of that this year ... my mother, of course, was proud
