We're all going to die anyway.

N., Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

poor Nick.

chris, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't want to leave a saggy corpse.

Emma, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I've enver really looked to my underwear in times of existential crisis.

Anna, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Anna, this is the CAUSE OF YOUR IMENDING UNHAPPINESS. Submit to the healing power of your bra.

Dan Perry, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Most of my moments of crisis involve my underwear. Or someone else's.

Emma, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

So ditch them. Lance the boil

Your corpse will be saggy anyway, unless you're heading to an early grave. Even bra-obsessive pensioners cannot beat gravity in the end.

N., Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ah peace, comfort, thy name is Gossard.

Anna, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The Minoans had the right idea.

Tom, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah and look what happened to them!! tidal wave AND volcano AND pirate rapists, jeepers

mark s, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What with all that snake clutching.

Pyth, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"Minoa" is one of those placenames which needs a placename joke.

"My wife _________________"

"Minoa?"

"No, she _________________"

They probably didn't have placename jokes in the bronze age.

Tom, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Err... if they were talking half in Latin and half in English (plausible, I think), it could be:

"My wife has got saddled with arranging an office awayday and is having trouble getting people to reimburse her expenses"

"Ad Minoa?"

"No, it's the accounts office in Manchester"

N., Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"Ever since I got turned into a pillar of salt my husband has gone to live in Minoa."

"Minoa? Lot?"

"No you don't."

Sam, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You could just about make "Minoa?" "Me know her?" but the only way to do that would be to use a dodgy racist accent.

Tom, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Not if you were actually Jamaican. Racist.

N., Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think the Minoa thing only works in a Brit accent to begin with. I'm confuse-ed.

Pyth, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am the thread killer, ph34r me.

Pyth, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It was a m3rcy killing.

Tom, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The point is that Nick gets to post ANOTHER thread about them.

Ronan, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i burnt my bra in the great bra burning o f 1826, and have used potatos for breasts ever since

Queen G, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

if i didn't wear a bra it would hurt when i run. it would also make slappy noises (when i run). whats dying got to do with it?

di, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I have a friend who finds it extremely funny to get people who don't drink to say "bacon" in a jamaican accent. No-one else finds it as funny as him though, surprisingly. There are two points.

Steve.n., Thursday, 14 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Why so many bra threads Nick? Are you jealous? Bras are supportive. Full stop. I tried to use pototoes for breasts too, but the store detective told me it was shoplifting.

alix, Thursday, 14 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You're assuming Nick doesn't wear a bra. He probably has a flourescent blue one on right now.

Nicole, Thursday, 14 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes, I read that after I posted. Sorry :)

alix, Thursday, 14 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Bras really shouldn't be pointy. Unless you're going for a 50s retro look.

rosemary, Saturday, 16 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

oh pointy bras are great in the context of 50s retro. i wish i had one.

di, Saturday, 16 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

two months pass...
So do I. Actually, I searched yahoo for the phrase '1950's pointy bras' and found this. Where would I get one? A friend suggested asking old relatives, but the thought of wearing your grandma's old bra is just..pushing retro too far..

Angelique, Sunday, 26 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

wouldn't thrift shops have them? or do they only take the overclothes of dead people?

Queen Zepplin G, Sunday, 26 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Not what Angelique was looking for, but Vintage underwear adverts!. Warning: do not click on the 'Men As Maids' link at work.

N., Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

N, that's a bit freaky as I came across (fnar) that same web of sites last week. I don't suppose you typed in "old-fashioned bra" into google?

Alan T, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Vintage underwear, Alan. May I ask why you were running this search?

N., Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Does anyone know anything about bra suitcase (bracases, I suppose)? I saw one in a shop window, it was like a little suitcase containing special hangers for bras, I reckon you could fit about a dozen in. I've been waiting for a bra thread revival to ask this.

PJ Miller, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't know, but apparently this is what BB3 Kate left behind, much to the delight of every red-blooded male. Will she just keep washing the one she was wearing, though?

N., Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Who's BB3 Kate? Is that her bra size?

PJ Miller, Monday, 27 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I now know what BB3 Kate is - Big Brother 3 Kate. I worked it out all by myself.
