I feel the answer is obviously Marion Cobretti, but you're welcome to disagree.

I just remembered that he died at the end of F.I.S.T. and therefore couldn't revive Johnny Kovak. Apologies to everyone else who has seen F.I.S.T.

Angelo "Snaps" Provolone made his dying father a promise on his deathbed: he would leave the world of crime and become an honest businessman. Despite having no experience in making money in a legal fashion, Snaps sets about to keep his promise. He is faced with numerous problems: henchmen who know nothing but crime, the police who are convinced he is hatching a master plan, and Oscar, who has just got his daughter pregnant.

EVIDENTLY SLOCKI MISSED THIS WHEN HE SAW OSCAR? OH WAIT, HE PROBABLY NEVER SAW IT, HE'S JUST TALKING SHIT ABOUT SHIT HE DOESN'T JACK SHIT ABOUT. SHOCKER.

da croupier, Monday, 11 February 2008 06:58 (seventeen years ago)

da croupier, Monday, 11 February 2008 07:04 (seventeen years ago)

i did see rhinestone.

s1ocki, Monday, 11 February 2008 07:05 (seventeen years ago)

i've seen a bunch of other stallone movies that didn't suck either.

i have not seen rhinestone.

I thought about adding his cameo in Staying Alive but that's a character that truly had a complete arc.

da croupier, Monday, 11 February 2008 07:06 (seventeen years ago)

kind of his "nashville," rhinestone.

Male Victim: Let me ask you something: What were you thinking when you made "Over The Top"?

Stallone: What?!

Male Victim: "Over The Top"! I mean, you had to arm wrestle a guy for the custody of your son, for God's sake!

Stallone: Please save your energy..

Male Victim: I mean, did you actually get that script and go around telling people, "Hey, this is a good one!"

Stallone: Oh, come on, just drop it! Please.

Male Victim: No, no, you're right. You know, it was an excellent movie, now that I think about it. After all, you know, it does combine the emotional drama of a custody child hearing with, uh.. ARM WRESTLING!!

Stallone: That's enough!!

Male Victim: Whoa, hey! Hey, remember that movie "Kramer vs. Kramer"? Yeah, that was about child custody, too. Yeah, but it wasn't that good. I don't know, it was missing something, you know? Ah, what was it missing? I can't.. oh, wait! I know! Arm wrestling!

Yeah, Demolition Man is his bestest, most fun movie. Though if he revives it, Wesley Snipes must come with the package too.

Tuomas, Monday, 11 February 2008 14:08 (seventeen years ago)

Even Sandra Bullock was nice in that film.

Tuomas, Monday, 11 February 2008 14:09 (seventeen years ago)

Lenina Huxley tells John Spartan about the Arnold Schwarzenegger Library, explaining that, based on the sheer popularity of his movies, a Constitutional amendment was passed in order for Schwarzenegger to run for president, which, according to Huxley, he did. In 2003, ten years after this film's release, Arnold Schwarzenegger was elected governor of California and shortly after his election, three senators separately proposed amendments to the US Constitution to allow naturalized citizens to become president.

Haha, I'd totally forgotten about this! I think the Arnold joke in DM must've been a response to the Stallone gag in Last Action Hero.

Tuomas, Monday, 11 February 2008 14:12 (seventeen years ago)

Haha, I love that SNL skit. "Stop.. stop.. stop.. stop.. Stop.. Or My Mom Will Shoot sucked.." I actually have seen Oscar, though, dudes, Thomei is smoking hot in it and it might be my 2nd fave 90's Stallone movie (by default) after Demolition Man.

Alex in Baltimore, Monday, 11 February 2008 14:25 (seventeen years ago)

max, Monday, 11 February 2008 16:28 (seventeen years ago)

I don't think hollywood would know how to do a remake of death race 2000 so I'm not picking Machine Gun Joe Viterbo. I'll pick Jack Carter from Get Carter because that guy had potential.

CaptainLorax, Monday, 11 February 2008 16:35 (seventeen years ago)

I forgot Machine Gun Joe Viterbo died too! What was I thinking?

da croupier, Monday, 11 February 2008 20:19 (seventeen years ago)

ILX System, Friday, 15 February 2008 00:01 (seventeen years ago)

Why would anyone want a new Judge Dredd movie?! The one they did was like the worst comic adaptation ever.

Tuomas, Friday, 15 February 2008 00:05 (seventeen years ago)

you guys... don't sleep on Cobra. it is amazing. seriously.

Cobra is definitely worthwhile. A grisly, transparent "Dirty Harry" update/homage drenched in 80s sleeze. The villians are a ax-wielding satanic cult members, which seems very of its time in a Geraldo-sense.

The way they build up the arrival of Stallone's character as an unstoppable one man army is the closest he's come to matching Rambo-level absurdity.

Big Theo, Friday, 15 February 2008 00:30 (seventeen years ago)

No one voted for Ray Tango! :(
