I am not convinced by this website. Fundamentally it is not very funny, and it just does things like say "white people like cycling hurr hurr they are stupid". In contrast, Black People Love Us is actually funny and says interesting things about the world.

The other thing I don't like about it is the way it takes some perfectly reasonable things - nice sandwiches, wholefoods, bicycles - and then implies that people are stupid for liking them.

Kinfolk is definitely hipster stuff as well. I tend to find their aesthetic brighter, prettier and less busy than a lot of similar magazines, though there's obviously a huge overlap with the terrible people in the artisan / Innocent Smoothies threads.

Hipster is a fairly malleable term but the urban-rustic, ecologically-minded, artisan-spoon-whittling thing that defines how most people where I live think of hipsterism is entirely in line with Kinfolk's shtick.
