I seriously see this all the time on my campus and here at my hotel. The "I'm trying to make it really obvious to everyone that I work out a lot" type, dressing in gym clothes as a matter of course and drinking otu of his gallon jug all day.

In fact I had a roomate who started doing it "cause I'm trying to bulk up, clear out the toxins."

He was an idiot.

in a lol twist, i took a class w/a pudgy dude last summer who brought a 3-liter soda with him to class every day.

The full gallon bottle thing is excessive to the point of being more towards narcissistic showing off than any sort of practical tracking of water consumption. Since i went on Weight Watchers, i've fill up one of those liter water bottles, drink that as i bounce from job to job all day, then fill it up again in midday and finish it off before night.

as iam a britisher i don't know what you mean re "gallon" apart from in relationship to desperate dan's head. however, i often work 12 hour shifts and 2 litre bottles are a minimum.

I did this when I was working at a factory, because I'd go through a lot of water and I didn't want to take lots of breaks to refill.

Also, gallon jug = cheaper than 20 oz bottle.

You 19th century people with yer gallons and ounces. I drink 3-4 litres per day, but I do stuff that requires it.

British gallons and US gallons are different.

Ours are about a fifth bigger, so we have the opportunity to outmanly you with our water-drinking. However, no one over here carries around gallon-bottles of water to drink from all day because we are quite weedy and read Snopes assiduously.

In the old days we used to drink lots of water because we took ecstasy and people died, now people just drink lots of water.

Dude HOOS the idea was to pee out all the THC in your system (before you pee it out in the urinalysis proper). Drinking as much water as possible = peeing as much as possible. And then exercise or sit in a sauna to sweat it all out. Is it SCIENCE? No. When it comes to "clearing out," all is hearsay and conjecture, but this was my preferred method as it was free.

I carry a 24 oz bottle and refill it several times.

the gallons of plastic water are pretty dud. cos you will be drinking from that all day, by the time you get to the last 1/4th, it's all going to be warm backwash. disgusting.

yeah i knew crust punks people that all lived in houses and threw parties and gave each other face tatoos, they would walk around town all day with their dogs carrying these. sometimes some of these crusty kids would harass my friend bartending after work, which was shitty.

for a while i have been real into mineral water that comes in glass bottles: Perrier mostly but whatever i can get. 5 mins walking distance from me i can get Italian Sparkling Water 1L for $1.39.

i also do a lot of water heated up in a tea kettle, it probably can't hurt to boil it, plus warm water is better for you/easier on your body. obv staying hydrated is the most important thing. so if you are thirsty and this is your only choice then stay hydrated my friend.

I think of day laborers with the gallon water jugs. I prefer not cold water.

the one time I had to go to meetings in the PRC and they provided warm water, it was so weird, plus I could still taste a little of that teakettle flavor, if that makes any sense. I’m okay with room temp water but anything over 75F doesn’t seem thirst quenching at all.
