i think of nancy as being one half of an evil duo though. so, she is comparable to thatcher to me. that 8 year run was soooooooooooooooooo fucking long. hardcore bands got burned out and broke up after writing anti-ronnie anthems and he was still there for YEARS after. don't know what was worse. 8 years of bonzo ronnie or 8 years of bozo bush. it makes me sad to think of them.

The difference I think was that by the end of his run, Ronnie was prepared to admit he was wrong about a few things.

What annoyed me most about the Reagan era was the proliferation of bad politics, or people getting all of their social life from politics, getting their whole identity from their politics. Then you have the tabloidization of politics, including focusing too much on the First Family.
