So - me, Ken, Rock, PPlains, ledge - who else?
― Mark C, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 13:29 (eighteen years ago)
I should be there.
― caek, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 13:55 (eighteen years ago)
What is the opinion on anonymous lurkers seeing this info and joining in? Are we happy to have their money or irritated about them showing up to take ours?
― Rock Hardy, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 14:13 (eighteen years ago)
i think lurkers are fine but random googlers not. the point of a private tourney is surely that it's for us here to have a play and a banter at the same time.
would be good to googleproof this thread.
― ken c, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 15:00 (eighteen years ago)
Having never played on Full Tilt, what's the deal? Can I deposit via credit card? I'm not much of an online gambler at all, really.
― B.L.A.M., Tuesday, 19 February 2008 15:06 (eighteen years ago)
+1 for googleproof.
Yes, you can deposit using a credit card. The minimum is $50, but I think someone was offering to help casual ILXors get around this by taking their money in person/bank transfer and transferring the same to their Full Tilt account?
― caek, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 15:25 (eighteen years ago)
Yeah, I'm happy to do that. Paypal might be a good way round that?
― Mark C, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 16:33 (eighteen years ago)
Alright, cool. As I said on the other thread, I can't do this Sunday, but I'll keep my eyes peeled for future games.

In detail, how does that work?
Do people have the option to give their money to other players on FT? (Besides "giving" in games?)
So a $5.50 deposit in Mark's PayPal would cover this one game?
― Pleasant Plains, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 17:04 (eighteen years ago)
if Full Tilt were as willing to deposit free money into my account as PartyPoker seem to be I would most definitely be there. as it is.... I may still be.
― Upt0eleven, Tuesday, 19 February 2008 20:02 (eighteen years ago)
I can transfer you $5.50 on the site once you've signed up, yes. I haven't actually done the Paypal thing (I assume there are small fees involved, not sure) - I'm happy to just transfer you the cash on trust to start off with - hopefully you'll win and can just transfer it back.
So let me know yr username when you've signed up and I'll transfer the cash.
― Mark C, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 11:49 (eighteen years ago)
his username is kenjuggle i think
― ken c, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 15:12 (eighteen years ago)

― Mark C, Friday, 22 February 2008 16:26 (eighteen years ago)
PP, I'll ship you the cash - hope you can play on Sunday.
― Mark C, Friday, 22 February 2008 16:36 (eighteen years ago)
OK, I registered.
― Rock Hardy, Friday, 22 February 2008 18:17 (eighteen years ago)
PP, you need to fill in your address information before I can transfer you the cash.
― Mark C, Friday, 22 February 2008 22:10 (eighteen years ago)
I'd like to play, but where is 40428783? Like what room?
And where do I put my address?
Hi dere, I'm clueless.
― Pleasant Plains, Saturday, 23 February 2008 04:04 (eighteen years ago)
There are tabs within tabs. From the main screen, make sure you're clicked on "real money." Then below that, click the "tournaments" tab. Under that, click the "private" tab, scroll down to the 24th, and look for that tourney number. Select that one and it'll say "ILXor Poker Showdown" in the window next to the Cashier button.
To add address, under the Account menu up top, go to "Change Personal Details."
― Rock Hardy, Saturday, 23 February 2008 06:10 (eighteen years ago)
Found the tourney, can't find any account menu.
I went to cashier's, but there is not change personal details designation there.
― Pleasant Plains, Saturday, 23 February 2008 17:47 (eighteen years ago)
Figured it out. I should be good.
― Pleasant Plains, Saturday, 23 February 2008 22:37 (eighteen years ago)
PP, have transferred the cash. Hope you can make it!
Anyone else? 2 hours to go...
― Mark C, Sunday, 24 February 2008 19:03 (eighteen years ago)
I've played a couple of (very small) SnGs this morning to warm up.
― Rock Hardy, Sunday, 24 February 2008 19:39 (eighteen years ago)
Smashing - how did it go? I haven't played this weekend - oh, I did play Friday night when I got 2-outed on the river in a $110 pot, but what can you do :)
― Mark C, Sunday, 24 February 2008 19:43 (eighteen years ago)
I remembered this time. I will now register and try not to get back from the kitchen after 30 minutes.
― caek, Sunday, 24 February 2008 20:03 (eighteen years ago)
woohoo!
― Mark C, Sunday, 24 February 2008 20:09 (eighteen years ago)
I have got two 180-man Stars MTTs on the go. I have had a few final tables lately but never a 1st or a 2nd. Maybe tonight eh.
― Mark C, Sunday, 24 February 2008 20:10 (eighteen years ago)
Just remembered!

― G00blar, Sunday, 24 February 2008 20:46 (eighteen years ago)
Smashing - how did it go?
Poorly in the tourneys, but I more than made my buyins back in a .02/.05 ring game a little while ago. Now a quick bit of lunch before we start.
― Rock Hardy, Sunday, 24 February 2008 20:52 (eighteen years ago)
mah glenlivet is empty! don't remember finishing that. oh well on to the talisker.
― ledge, Sunday, 24 February 2008 20:52 (eighteen years ago)

― G00blar, Sunday, 24 February 2008 20:54 (eighteen years ago)
Such a dumb hand when I lost my stack to PP. I'm outta practice.
― ledge, Sunday, 24 February 2008 21:34 (eighteen years ago)
now what to do with the rest of my evening...
― ledge, Sunday, 24 February 2008 21:36 (eighteen years ago)
top tip for all budding poker players - don't listen to "say you, say me" while playing poker
― ken c, Sunday, 24 February 2008 22:14 (eighteen years ago)
At one point, I was the bully. Then I became the hunted. Finally, I finished second.
― Pleasant Plains, Monday, 25 February 2008 05:33 (eighteen years ago)
I just came first in my first ever sng! $19.50 bitch. I've made the cut a few times, but I always get too impatient and go all in when I shouldn't when it's down to the last two or three. Played it just right this time -- and some good cards didn't hurt.
― caek, Sunday, 2 March 2008 16:08 (eighteen years ago)
I just came first in my first ever sng!
by which I mean I came first for the first time, not that this was the first time I'd played in a tournament.
― caek, Sunday, 2 March 2008 16:12 (eighteen years ago)
there's something really wrong with my play lately i think.. keep losing and finding it really hard to keep cool. tried to steady myself tonight but started getting some shitty bad beats.
finally managed to be in the money (after losing like 5 in a row), i had KK and made trips on the turn and called someone all in who had a straight draw and they hit the frigging card. then had the nerve to tell me "bad timing".
might have to take a break.
― ken c, Monday, 3 March 2008 01:05 (eighteen years ago)
Same here. This has been a shitty poker weekend.
― Rock Hardy, Monday, 3 March 2008 01:12 (eighteen years ago)
When's the next game?
― Mr. Snrub, Monday, 3 March 2008 01:22 (eighteen years ago)
sunday?
― ken c, Monday, 3 March 2008 09:17 (eighteen years ago)
Can be.
I had a dumb experience yesterday. Doing pretty well in the Full Tilt $20k freeroll, I misclick call a pfr with J7o. The button calls also. The flop comes J45, the original raiser puts out a tiny bet, so I re-raise, almost half my stack. What I hadn't foresee was that the button would push, covering me but still giving me 5/1 odds to call. So I do, he has KJ and I don't suck out. What an idiotic way to bust out.

I have used your investment into growing my funds, Mark C. I don't know how much of a capitalist you are, but it works for me.
― Pleasant Plains, Monday, 3 March 2008 15:27 (eighteen years ago)
Glad to see seed capital working! I wish I could say the same for mine...
― Mark C, Monday, 3 March 2008 17:01 (eighteen years ago)
$2 h2h's. Also, so glad I learned what "turbo" means.
― Pleasant Plains, Monday, 3 March 2008 17:24 (eighteen years ago)
for some reason i seem to be doing infinitely better on $20 sit and gos than in $10 ones
― ken c, Tuesday, 11 March 2008 17:44 (seventeen years ago)
You play tighter in bigger money games?
― Pleasant Plains, Tuesday, 11 March 2008 17:46 (seventeen years ago)
maybe.. although i really don't feel my game really changes taht much.. perhaps it's just that everybody plays tighter
― ken c, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 00:11 (seventeen years ago)
i'm having a very drunken $20 to test teh theory
― ken c, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 00:14 (seventeen years ago)
