What's going wrong? When you check them, are they soft and perfect, but when you take them out they turn hard and crusty within minutes? 1. Cook them 10 minutes less, it's always better to undershoot when it coems to cookie baking time. 2. just go to 7-11 and get a bunch of those gourmet jumbo choc. chip ones, take them home and microwave them

Funniest, most gonzo ghetto cuisine story I've ever heard......this guy told me about "cracker sandwiches".....you get three crackers, chew one up, spit it out and use it as the "meat" for the "sandwich"......do you understand? this is why I associate with poor people

Ramosi, Wednesday, 13 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

um i understand how but not why, unless it's a crumbs issue

mark, i bet it's something to do with wanting warmth and moisture, and the illusion of a 'real' meal. Nasty way to go about it, but lets not forget, men will also put up with massengill-needing downright CLAMZ UV DETH to achieve 'warmth and moisture'

[1] preheat your oven to the proper temperature FIRST. this makes for more even cooking, rather than burnt-on-the-outside-raw-inside stylez.

[2] once cooked, turn off the oven and let them cool without taking them outta the oven.

works fer me, anyway. my cookies always = r0x0r. well, apart from the Great Baking Powder Debacle a few months back...

petra jane and katie in Baking Powder Debacle Mind Meld! except mine was in a cake. and the whole damn thing ended up tasting of it :(

katie, Thursday, 14 March 2002 01:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yeh, and you wonder how that sudsy taste got there [who didn't rinse/ dry the mixing bowl properly??!] till you realise oops, it said t-for- teaspoon, not T-for-tablespoon!

and this is why nature invented flatmates with boyfriends.
