Holy shit, I am tempted enough by that photograph to leave work this instant and board the next LDN -> L.A. flight for some ROSCOE'S...

Savannah Smiles, Friday, 29 February 2008 12:02 (eighteen years ago)

Please view the following video... the "Roscoe's Rap" video from 'Tapeheads,' featuring stop motion dancing chicken 'n' waffles:

I DIED, Friday, 29 February 2008 14:07 (eighteen years ago)

had some C & W couple of weeks ago. also served with a fried egg in what I like to call a little mother and child reunion. It was AWESOME.

neither that waffle nor those wing look all that good, right? plus, it doesn't have to be wings, I like a big fat breast with my waffles.

There's a guy in Cleveland that cooks boneless chicken INTO the waffles. Nom, nom, with hot sauce and syrup.

kate78, Friday, 29 February 2008 16:06 (eighteen years ago)

this always felt like a horrible and unnatural meeting of sweet and savoury.

Gukbe, Friday, 29 February 2008 16:12 (eighteen years ago)

i am a fan. the thing to do though is to dunk the chicken into the syrup.

there is a new hipster breakfast place here called "the waffle" which is so close to the flagship roscoe's as to be gauntlet-throwingly controversial. i have not tried this new restaurant and i don't know what their waffle + chicken policy is.

get bent, Friday, 29 February 2008 18:38 (eighteen years ago)

i want roscoe's NOW

carne asada, Friday, 29 February 2008 18:41 (eighteen years ago)

is that syrup on the chicken in the first pic? I dunno about that.

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 29 February 2008 18:43 (eighteen years ago)

bell_labs, Friday, 29 February 2008 18:51 (eighteen years ago)

syrup on bacon is classic for all time

The Reverend, Friday, 29 February 2008 19:12 (eighteen years ago)

I'm more of a shrimp + grits dude anyway

El Tomboto, Friday, 29 February 2008 19:18 (eighteen years ago)

max, Friday, 29 February 2008 19:18 (eighteen years ago)

will, Friday, 29 February 2008 19:22 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Sunday, 2 March 2008 00:01 (eighteen years ago)

easiest poll ever! it's the opposite of a Prince album poll.

horseshoe, Sunday, 2 March 2008 00:02 (eighteen years ago)

OTM. I like honey too. Buckwheat makes the Rosco's waffles so good.

Savannah, are you really in Nepal? You know a lot about LA. You should!

I don't think they do waffles but I really, really want to try the chicken at Aunt Kizzy's Back Porch in Marina del Rey. Has anybody been?

felicity, Sunday, 2 March 2008 01:27 (eighteen years ago)

Do you know . . .

What is the movie that has a scene in which one guy say that he wants Roscoe's chicken and waffles, then instead he gets beaten up and thrown into a car trunk. Is it A Life Less Ordinary?

felicity, Sunday, 2 March 2008 01:30 (eighteen years ago)

felicity, Monday, 3 March 2008 05:21 (eighteen years ago)

I don't eat teh meat but I gotta say the Carol C. @ Roscoe's - a chicken breast + a waffle - is one of the finest meals available anywhere

J0hn D., Monday, 3 March 2008 06:12 (eighteen years ago)

the new place kicks ass, totally different vibe from 'scoes though. no chix + waffles on the menu, but you can get bacon cooked into your waffles. i am excited by this prospect and hope to try it soon. this morning i got the date nut waffles topped with a spiced cream cheese spread (kinda like a tangy carrot cake frosting). plus a coffee milkshake and more than a few daniel plainview jokes.
