After School Wish Granted, Boy Succumbs To Cancer

OMAHA, Neb. -- A 3-year-old boy whose wish was to ride a school bus to class has died.

Prabesh Sapkota was diagnosed with leukemia last year. The Make-A-Wish Foundation coordinated a trip on Valentine's Day to Dundee Elementary School so he could go to kindergarten for a day.

"The impact of a wish to a child and a family is something that is sometimes unexplainable," said Make-A-Wish's Jennifer Shuman. "It's very overwhelming and heartfelt to the family and brings them together after going through some very rough times."

Prabesh succumbed to the disease over the weekend just days shy of his fourth birthday.

Prabesh is survived by his parents.
