The 2008 tour, titled “Live As We’ll Ever Be”, represents a new era in the troupe’s collaboration, and is comprised of completely fresh material which simultaneously reflects who they are now and their patently off-kilter take on ordinary life. Favorite characters from the television series appear in entirely new situations, sharing the stage with new KITH personas which are destined for the same level of cult adoration. In a world where most entertainment tries to play it safe, “The Kids in the Hall” steadfastly refuse to follow the trend, preferring instead to slaughter sacred cows and look at the world – and each other – with refreshing honesty.
Join The Kathies, Headcrusher, the Sales Guys, Buddy Cole, and people you’ve never met before (but somehow recognize from your everyday life) on an adventure into the bizarre and side-splittingly funny.

already got my tickets for the milwaukee show (although they haven't showed up in the mail yet, which is a little worrying).
― Jordan, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 21:08 (seventeen years ago)
yeah they debuted some new material in SF for a comedy fest but I was unable to attend
they were great live both times I've seen them. Bruce's Jesus 2000 monologue = k-lassic

I really shudder at what NYC tix must cost (won't look yet)
― Dr Morbius, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 21:13 (seventeen years ago)
39.50 or 49.50. i feel like that's not more than what i've paid in the past, really.
― lauren, Wednesday, 12 March 2008 21:19 (seventeen years ago)

― chaki, Thursday, 13 March 2008 20:35 (seventeen years ago)
I read that Jordan liked the show (as much drag as ever?).
― Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 15 April 2008 20:32 (seventeen years ago)
yeah, they killed it. there was a fair amount of drag, i guess...honestly i don't really notice the amount of characters in dresses vs. not.
― Jordan, Tuesday, 15 April 2008 20:44 (seventeen years ago)
one highlight among many was mark-as-headcrusher brutally zinging the other kids for their careers, i could quote but i don't want to ruin it for people who are going to see the show.
it was fun to see the second night, when everyone was missing their marks and the cues were all off (way funnier than a tight show).
― Jordan, Tuesday, 15 April 2008 20:49 (seventeen years ago)
I'm going to Saturday's late show
― Dr Morbius, Tuesday, 15 April 2008 21:02 (seventeen years ago)
cool. i wish i could compare between the warm-up midwest show and the big NYC show.

I'm really kicking myself that I didn't get tickets for the Baltimore show back before I paid taxes. Maybe if there are tix available the week of the show I can figure out at the last minute if I can afford to go.
― Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 18 April 2008 17:03 (seventeen years ago)
haha wd be awesome to see these guys at the ryman
weird how few canadian dates there are
― Tracer Hand, Friday, 18 April 2008 17:11 (seventeen years ago)
we'll be at the nashville show at the ryman. looking forward to it. i had the day off when tix went on sale so we got some nice seats for once. (usually it's a ticketmaster feeding frenzy.)
― msp, Friday, 18 April 2008 18:08 (seventeen years ago)
it was kinda funny, i bought tickets like five minutes after they went on sale to get decent seats. one of my friends bought tickets five minutes before the show started and she ended up sitting right behind me (row 7/8).
― Jordan, Friday, 18 April 2008 18:11 (seventeen years ago)
pretty good! tho Buddy's "how we know Jesus was gay" monologue, well, you can probly write most of it.
― Dr Morbius, Sunday, 20 April 2008 19:24 (seventeen years ago)
i saw scott thompson on sunday walking up 7th near 32nd st! he was talking on a cellphone; he looked good. it was kind of awesome and also eerily normal, like, yeah i know that guy he's cool.
― rrrobyn, Thursday, 24 April 2008 15:14 (seventeen years ago)
Guess who got to meet each Kid tonight after the Portland show and ask them comedy nerd questions about how to end a sketch, and found about "New Scottland."
Go ahead.
Guess.
― kingfish, Monday, 12 May 2008 07:32 (seventeen years ago)
Also, even tho this might have been bullshit or a piss-take, but Scott Thompson claimed not to know who Chris Morris was, and needed to be told about "Brass Eye" and "Jam."
― kingfish, Monday, 12 May 2008 07:37 (seventeen years ago)
what was the answer about ending a sketch?
― chaki, Monday, 12 May 2008 08:32 (seventeen years ago)
It's the hardest thing to do.
Seriously, all 5 members said this, almost word for word. Kevin & Dave mention Python as great examples as how to get around that, but that no one could ever do it again and not be accused as ripping off them.
― kingfish, Monday, 12 May 2008 08:34 (seventeen years ago)
Kevin mentioned that the ending should related to the "truth" of the sketch, and Mark & Bruce said that you should end on a laugh, at least.
― kingfish, Monday, 12 May 2008 08:36 (seventeen years ago)
Going to go see them today in Georgia. I have two tickets. My friend is coming with me but I seriously doubt he will appreciate the humor like I do. He saw their skits for the first time today when I showed him about 4 of them. I could have invited another friend but, generally speaking, I don't think any of my friends would exactly "get" this kinda humor anyways, even if one might understand the funnyness just a little more than the next guy.
Which brings me to my conclusion about people nowadays again. Why can't you understand why KITH are funny and awesome? Why must Dane Cook and Dave Chapell dictate the only type of humor worth hearing? Why can't people appreciate the artistic value of CRAZEE sketch humor and learn to laugh at it because other types of humor are funny besides The Daily Show. Is it because the Kids in The Hall dress like girls that they are automatically disregarded by some people.. I wouldn't be surprised. Open-mindedness is needed in a world with so many closed-minded people. They would discover more things to laugh at for instance and better appreciate art.
For instance, I just saw the Hellboy 2 preview, and a friend of mine gave the thumbs down signal after the preview. The preview contained some of the best and most original cgi characters (tons of different types of aliens that all looked cool). Apparently, thats not worth mentioning when judging the movie preview. Perhaps if there was some national lampoon humor he would have gave the thumbs up.

― dat dude delmar (and what), Wednesday, 19 November 2008 20:58 (sixteen years ago)
I don't know what tl;dr means, but if you are trying to have some sort of nerd argument because I called the creatures in hellboy 2 aliens, than I can't help you there.
