yes - i’m really sorry to not have let you known. canceling everything at the last second was an agonizing process in and of itself, and then i didn’t have the heart to reach out to individuals who i figured would be attending.

pretty much everything in my life has fallen apart over the last few weeks. i’m doing my best to not fall apart myself (it is the best time and worst time to be sober, lol) and skip the self-destruction. so much of life is just getting yourself to a place of self-contained happiness and fulfillment, and trying to stay there.

i have been there. i have truly been there. please take care of yourself and i've taken note of the new thread title :)

life is still crazy, just moved into a new place, sublease for the summer, lots of odd things about the place but a lot to like as welll, especially an extra room that has been great for painting. i have a lot of free/alone time right now so i expect to be heavily painting for the summer

showing these two and a few others at a new performance space here in st louis! it’s nice because i play there a lot, i go there to watch others a lot, and my work will get to hang in there with all that for at least a while! everything else i’ve ever done has been a one-night “event”, so i’m excited about the idea of it just staying there for a minute.

thank you! sadly i straight up ran out of paint, so pausing on it til i can get to the store tomorrow. the blue on the bottom and left is oil, the rest is acrylic + really watered down gesso (ran out of that too)

i am currently focused on an ep for around the end of december, will be making square album art for that in the next two weeks as well, it’s all due by 12/5/25 so it will get done lol

ep is called buckaroo and i think i may just make a real literal cowboy guy for it. but also considering a thing with tiny drawings in it showing them going from the mountain to the desert to the bottom of the ocean

life is a real fucking wild ride, horrible so often, just barely hanging on, doing ok though, etc etc, “everyone i know is going through it”, hope everyone else is holding on too

it’s free to download/stream but i’m trying to raise money for Tent Mission STL (local mutual aid for houseless people) so i’d especially appreciate if anyone can pay anything for it at all.

for this thread, i’m not sure what i think about this cover, but i went into it comparing 4 totally different images and looking at them from across the room, as tiny little squares on the edge of my vision, to see what seemed to grab my attention. this is my attempt to simulate what it’s like to be bombarded by bullshit on a screen and to have your eye drawn toward something. bleak! but i went toward this one because it’s got a lot of symbols, cowboy hat, queer boots, red striding grateful dead guy, ghost heels, snapped toothpicks

on the first (red) side my thought was to do cool scraping stuff and leave little windows to see through and everything felt liquid and flat. but on this second side i did a thick layer of acrylic+gesso on the bottom and let it dry, to give it a solid ground and some texture. threw some toothpicks in there too!

also did a quick chalk/pastel version of something i made almost 40 years ago now :-o
