Someone I know who saw an advance screening said it was great. Definitely anticipating.

Armond hated it, so at least it's worth checking out.
― Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Friday, 14 March 2008 21:18 (seventeen years ago)
Just saw it. Still digesting, but I was kinda floored And I hated All The Real Girls.
― The Wild Shirtless Lyrics of Mark Farner (C. Grisso/McCain), Friday, 10 October 2008 20:35 (seventeen years ago)
I saw this a few days ago and quite liked it as well. Sam Rockwell turns in a particularly impressive performance, I thought.

not sure about the plot...but Green's style is REALLY growing on me. this was lovely.

Movie looked fine, but really the guy that made In The Bedroom needs to seriously get taken to task for spawning this shit.
― Alex in SF, Saturday, 25 October 2008 03:50 (seventeen years ago)
I really couldn't stand this.
― Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Saturday, 25 October 2008 05:42 (seventeen years ago)
this is the kind of movie i hate, with people arguing for two hours and really heavily telegraphed tragedy. that being said, this was really well made and well acted (love sam rockwell and griffin dunne needs to be in more movies these days)
when amy sedaris was running through the woods yelling, i couldn't help but imagine her screaming "WAAAAIIT! I'VE GOT SOMETHING TO SAY!"

love the style....am even less enamored of the plot when i think about it now.
― ryan, Tuesday, 18 November 2008 16:42 (seventeen years ago)
i watched shotgun stories last night, really good. it's directed by a dude named jeff nichols but produced by david gordon green, and basically feels very similar to a dgg film.

I hated this, but love all the previous ones (esp. All the Real Girls).
― Simon H., Saturday, 27 December 2008 17:31 (sixteen years ago)
This is a wonderful film. I think it a lot people slept on it. That's unfortunate. Deserved/deserves more praise I think.

I think a lot of people slept on it I mean.

It was not very good. Solid acting (esp. Rockwell as usual) but so drama-y in the sense that that everything was so dramatic. I would have liked more with just the cute teenagers.
― congratulations (n/a), Monday, 20 July 2009 18:17 (sixteen years ago)
oh i already posted on this shit
I love drama.
― SourPatchCorpse, Monday, 20 July 2009 18:35 (sixteen years ago)
But really, I liked the fact that every second of this movie was LOADED AND HEAVY. Thought that worked in it's favor. My only complaint was the guy Kate Beckinsale (spelling?) was screwing. Odd casting move.

With Nathalie Portman in the lead. What a strange idea. I really don't see how this could be any good.

first he is making this gem: Your Highness Danny McBride is a lazy, arrogant prince whose brother (James Franco) must go on an epic quest in order to save their father's kingdom. Natalie Portman plays a warrior princess who is also the lazy prince's love interest.[4] Zooey Deschanel plays Belladonna, Franco's virginal bride.[5] Justin Theroux plays Leezar, the evil wizard who kidnaps Belladonna.
― mizzell, Tuesday, 20 October 2009 23:04 (sixteen years ago)
Sort of hard to believe that the guy making that movie also made Snow Angels, George Washington, etc.
