this really might be the best show ever

John Justen, Thursday, 3 April 2008 22:49 (seventeen years ago)

Certainly the best nerdly fanservice ever.

Oilyrags, Thursday, 3 April 2008 22:51 (seventeen years ago)

¡Viva los Muertos! is amazing.

chaki, Thursday, 3 April 2008 22:55 (seventeen years ago)

I'm thinking maybe the jailbreak episode.

Oilyrags, Thursday, 3 April 2008 22:55 (seventeen years ago)

oh shit! I just realized that the name and description of Victor Echo November ended up on different lines. DAMNIT

Oilyrags, Thursday, 3 April 2008 22:56 (seventeen years ago)

Great episode, too.

Oilyrags, Thursday, 3 April 2008 22:58 (seventeen years ago)

Showdown at Cremation Creek (Part II)
David Bowie, Klaus Nomi, and Iggy Pop FTW!

kate78, Friday, 4 April 2008 05:14 (seventeen years ago)

"Assassinanny 911," because Molotov Cocktease is teh sex.

Eric H., Friday, 4 April 2008 05:42 (seventeen years ago)

Jesus fuck, WHERE IS THE NEXT SEASON

forksclovetofu, Friday, 4 April 2008 06:07 (seventeen years ago)

June 1, 2008!

kate78, Friday, 4 April 2008 06:08 (seventeen years ago)

The opening to Powerless in the Face of Death is some of the best tv satire I've ever seen, it parrots that "we are making groundbreaking television give us a fucking Emmy" sense that shows up every once in awhile so perfectly.

en i see kay, Friday, 4 April 2008 06:08 (seventeen years ago)

they showed a new rough episode on monday i think

chaki, Friday, 4 April 2008 06:10 (seventeen years ago)

Fallen Arches - When the Guild of Calamitous Intent finally approves Dr. Orpheus for his very own arch-nemesis, he calls upon his old friends Jefferson Twilight and the Alchemist to resurrect their former super-team, The Order of the Triad.

After seeing this thread I watched this episode on dailymotion and lmaoed at Triana, Hank, and Dean's conversation in the bathroom. I have no idea what to vote for.

31g, Friday, 4 April 2008 06:36 (seventeen years ago)

¡Viva los Muertos! has:

totally disturbing, aging scooby doo team
dr orpheus psychedelic trip out party
amazing brock tripping out scene
hank and dean creepy clone room and discovery
venture-stein's shoe making instructional video and his love for prostitutes

chaki, Friday, 4 April 2008 06:47 (seventeen years ago)

But "Powerless in the Face of Death" has

'Were you raping me?'
'Kinda.'

Oilyrags, Friday, 4 April 2008 12:28 (seventeen years ago)

totally disturbing, aging scooby doo team

the subtext of that totally went over my head, my girlfriend had to explain all the references to me (Shaggy = Son of Sam, Fred = Ted Bundy, Daphne = Patty Hearst, Velma = Valerie Solanas). such a great episode.

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 4 April 2008 12:43 (seventeen years ago)

and now you've explained it to me! Nice work, and duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh.

Oilyrags, Friday, 4 April 2008 12:47 (seventeen years ago)

this is really impossible, I keep trying to do a top 5 but can't narrow it down, so many good ones. I'll probably just vote for Fallen Arches.

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 4 April 2008 12:54 (seventeen years ago)

> this is really impossible

No, THIS is really Impossible:

Oilyrags, Friday, 4 April 2008 13:00 (seventeen years ago)

IGNORE ME

David R., Friday, 4 April 2008 13:15 (seventeen years ago)

Actually, Return to Spider-Skull Island, just for the "Scared Straight" speech. And Dr. Venture getting sonned by his vestigal dad-resembling twin discovered while the group's dressed up as characters from Rocky Horror.

Still disappointed the nu-Brock haircut didn't take.

David R., Friday, 4 April 2008 13:18 (seventeen years ago)

Colbert considering himself too big of a star too keep doing Mr. Impossible was a total dick move.

Nicole, Friday, 4 April 2008 13:22 (seventeen years ago)

That's not what happened! It was Colbert's assistant / handler / fluffer that sent a dismissive e-mail to the VB team, and then shit blew up in certain circles! I read all about it on James Urbaniak's LiveJournal!

David R., Friday, 4 April 2008 13:26 (seventeen years ago)

</SaveADailyShowAlumHo>

David R., Friday, 4 April 2008 13:27 (seventeen years ago)

Anyway, if this means they end up making a new Impossibles team that's an analog of one of those wacky 70's FF teams (Luke Cage! Thundra! Someone from the Inhumans! More of that H.E.R.B.I.E. looking thing!), Colbert can sit & spin.

David R., Friday, 4 April 2008 13:40 (seventeen years ago)

I liked the Impossibles stuff but that's really a rare occurence where it wouldn't really bother me if the voice of one of the characters changed -- the Ambiguously Gay Duo wouldn't be the same without Colbert, but his character on VB wasn't so great that he's irreplaceable.

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 4 April 2008 13:47 (seventeen years ago)

They better not change the voices for the Monarch's henchmen, though.

Oilyrags, Friday, 4 April 2008 13:50 (seventeen years ago)

I think the henchmen are voiced by Jackson Publick & Doc Hammer (AKA the show's creators), so I doubt that'll happen any time soon.

David R., Friday, 4 April 2008 13:52 (seventeen years ago)

Their duet on "Mars: Bringer of War" is another reason to vote for...uh, whichever episode it's in. Not sure if it's first or second of season two.

Oilyrags, Friday, 4 April 2008 13:57 (seventeen years ago)

Clearly, a character poll needs to happen next.

Oilyrags, Friday, 4 April 2008 13:59 (seventeen years ago)

YES

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 4 April 2008 14:01 (seventeen years ago)

Incidentally, they're ALL pretty good.

forksclovetofu, Friday, 4 April 2008 14:43 (seventeen years ago)

Only duff moments for me are in Trial of the Monarch, when Brock turns into a spokesman for the Guild. And having southern-fried Quato represent the Monarch more than makes up for it. And I'm being really nitpicky.

David R., Friday, 4 April 2008 15:04 (seventeen years ago)

Stop me before I quote the Testicular Torsion PSA.

David R., Friday, 4 April 2008 15:04 (seventeen years ago)

Shit, "Careers in Science" is missing, too.

Oilyrags, Friday, 4 April 2008 16:49 (seventeen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Monday, 7 April 2008 23:01 (seventeen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Tuesday, 8 April 2008 23:01 (seventeen years ago)

lol

HI DERE, Tuesday, 8 April 2008 23:16 (seventeen years ago)

Honestly, I think that's the most sensible possible result.

Oilyrags, Tuesday, 8 April 2008 23:28 (seventeen years ago)

I almost bought the DVDs of this show the other day, but I didn't. That was dumb, huh.

El Tomboto, Tuesday, 8 April 2008 23:35 (seventeen years ago)

I voted "Ice Station – Impossible!"
