I'm throwing a party, and I guess thirty to forty people will be there.
I want to get a bunch of champagne, a little bit of wine, and a bunch of beer...
How many bottles will be enough and how many cases of beer?
(the age of people at the party is early twenties)
― Colin_C., Saturday, 5 April 2008 00:31 (seventeen years ago)
4 cases of beer (120 bottles) 8 750ml bottles of champagne (6 liters) 10 750 ml bottles of wine (7.5 liters) - 6 white, 4 red
― El Tomboto, Saturday, 5 April 2008 00:39 (seventeen years ago)
this party isn't byob?
― omar little, Saturday, 5 April 2008 00:40 (seventeen years ago)
i'd adjust that red:white radio, and I don't think you'd need so much champagne.
― ian, Saturday, 5 April 2008 00:52 (seventeen years ago)
the ratio too.
red/white ratio depends on men/women ratio, imo. more girls=more white; more boys=more red.

Is it possible to buy beers like Blue Moon or Stella by the case?
If so where in the NYC area?
I just refuse to drink stuff like Budweiser.

alrite alrite hipstuh partuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
― deeznuts, Saturday, 5 April 2008 01:15 (seventeen years ago)
I'm not hipstuh.

One large, frothy tub of kumis (fermented mare's milk), three kegs of plum brandy, a magnum of ouzo, and one woolen knit tam sodden with whiskey which your partygoers may festively suckle upon as the mood stikes.
― Aimless, Saturday, 5 April 2008 01:19 (seventeen years ago)
There will be like three or four hipstuh at this party though.
Um...
Wow. Aimless, thank you. You saved my party.
And my life.

Always happy to oblige in matters of taste.

1.75 Liters grain alcohol 24 Cans domestic beer 1 can Country Time Lemonade Mix 4 Cans Red Bull
Pour together in a cooler. Mix together while pouring. This should cool down 30 people. You are in your early twenties. Let it all hang out. Fuck Stella Artois.

So the internet tells me this really cheap champagne called balaltore spumante is actually quite good.
Any of you know about this?
― Colin_C., Saturday, 5 April 2008 01:27 (seventeen years ago)
Wow.
So one drink of that is equal to how many beers?
I might have to look into your mysterious concoction for another time.
Sounds like a good way to drink at some weird theme party.
― Colin_C., Saturday, 5 April 2008 01:33 (seventeen years ago)
Hmm, I would triple the amount of booze in kingkongvsgodzilla's mix. There's no way that would get 30 people buzzed.
― Colonel Poo, Saturday, 5 April 2008 01:34 (seventeen years ago)
Yeah, could be the one time I made it I drank a whole lot and the smarter people refrained. But you have to be careful about overbuying cause no way do you want leftovers of that swill.
― kingkongvsgodzilla, Saturday, 5 April 2008 01:37 (seventeen years ago)
re: Ballatore Spumante, I never fuck with sweet sparkling wines, but your mileage may vary.
― Noodle Vague, Saturday, 5 April 2008 01:39 (seventeen years ago)
I probably underestimated it actually. We don't have grain alcohol here. I was figuring along the lines of 1.75 litres of vodka. But I guess grain alcohol is probably twice as strong. So maybe just double the amount :)
― Colonel Poo, Saturday, 5 April 2008 01:40 (seventeen years ago)
colin no offense but i think you may be fucked here
party shd be byob, at least roughly; if yr worried about supplying fancy stuff then let ppl know that youll be doing that (w/ a couple cases of cheap beer thrown in) but dont expect to supply 30-40 ppl with booze for a night.
most likely, yr guests are going to be there for company + more-or-less free drugs; quality isnt remotely vital & becomes less & less so the longer the night goes on
xp and stay the fuck away from sweet sparkling wines jesus
― deeznuts, Saturday, 5 April 2008 01:41 (seventeen years ago)
It's so much better to have more alcohol than not enough. Get a few kegs of imported beer if you have the money. Or you could just go frat party style (it'll be so ironic!) and whip up a cooler full of jungle juice.
The keg thing is probably best if you don't want fighting and puking in your house though.
― rockapads, Saturday, 5 April 2008 01:52 (seventeen years ago)
What beer do you guys recommend that can be bought by the case?
Corona, Heineken, and two other things I'm thinking...
― Colin_C., Saturday, 5 April 2008 02:01 (seventeen years ago)
el oh el @ thred
― deej, Saturday, 5 April 2008 02:02 (seventeen years ago)
the more different types of liquor you buy, the better to work the brand names into your freestyles
― deej, Saturday, 5 April 2008 02:03 (seventeen years ago)
have you ever purchased liquor before son?
― johnny crunch, Saturday, 5 April 2008 02:07 (seventeen years ago)
Or you could just go frat party style (it'll be so ironic!)
Nothing ironic about wanting to rage, son.
This is probably true.

Who flow hotter off goldschlager? I'm so proper.
― Colin_C., Saturday, 5 April 2008 02:12 (seventeen years ago)
XD
― deej, Saturday, 5 April 2008 02:19 (seventeen years ago)
rent a margarita machine
― milo z, Saturday, 5 April 2008 02:24 (seventeen years ago)
I'm actually going to try to stick to Tomboto's recommendation except making sure to buy really cheap (but good) shit.
And as far as beer I'm going to rely mostly on help from other people.
― Colin_C., Saturday, 5 April 2008 02:31 (seventeen years ago)
i say drop as much money as possible so you learn the hard way never to do that again
― deej, Saturday, 5 April 2008 02:33 (seventeen years ago)
deej/milo, is this guy a troll??
if no, colin, a)why are you solely responsible for the alcohol intake of 30-40 early twenty-somethings & b)why do you absolutely 'REFUSE to drink stuff like budweiser'???
xp that makes sense. on the whole id recommend you just not throw parties, but then this is coming from someone posting to ilx late-ish on a fri night
xxp otm
― deeznuts, Saturday, 5 April 2008 02:34 (seventeen years ago)
Its just a once in a lifetime party that's all.
― Colin_C., Saturday, 5 April 2008 02:38 (seventeen years ago)
Invite Jesus to your party - problem solved. Unless for some reason you run out of water.
― snoball, Saturday, 5 April 2008 12:07 (seventeen years ago)
party guests are expected to contribute a mini keg of heineken is always a nice party gift
