Torn between Bruce and Terry, national treasures both.

Bob Dylan vs Chris Evans FITE!!

Mark G, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 11:42 (seventeen years ago)

Winton.

Raw Patrick, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 11:46 (seventeen years ago)

Toss up between Winton, Maconie and Matthew.

I plumped for Maconie(probably more for his Radio 6 work, tbh)

Guilty_Boksen, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 11:47 (seventeen years ago)

For me it has to be MC Desmo with his cat live from Perth.

Dingbod Kesterson, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 12:10 (seventeen years ago)

Dylan's programme is wonderful, but perhaps it's kind of unfair to the rest to put him on the same list. It's not a BBC show anyway, hence unavailable online I think.

Russell Davies can have my vote, as no-one else will vote for him: tremendous urbanity, maturity, wryness, knowledge, taste; an education.

Carrington is a treasure, for sure.

I love Bob Harris Country also, in all its predictability.

Oh, and like others I'm fond of Brian Matthew, the man who used to proclaim 'THAT'S PETE TOWNSHEND' as the chords of 'I'm Free' started up live across the studio. ... 'and that can only be Pete's band, THE WHO, playing one of his own compositions ...'

the pinefox, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 13:30 (seventeen years ago)

That list missed out Mark Goodier.

Dingbod Kesterson, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 13:44 (seventeen years ago)

Apart from during long car journeys, the only time I have this station on is to listen to Jonathan Ross. So, him.

DavidM, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 15:00 (seventeen years ago)

I'm repping for Ken Bruce. This might be the only place to point out that Sarah Kennedy is the worst presenter of anything in the history of ever.

ailsa, Wednesday, 9 April 2008 17:53 (seventeen years ago)

(have soft spot for Brian Matthew too, and his stubborn refusal to stop using phrases like "cutting a disc" etc)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

Raw Patrick, Friday, 18 April 2008 18:37 (seventeen years ago)

No votes for Nigel "The Organist Entertains" Ogden! It's a strange program that one.

A glimpse into a hidden world. One I'm very glad exists but which must surely be on its last legs.

bidfurd, Friday, 18 April 2008 20:23 (seventeen years ago)

I love it when I hear that show. I sometimes kinda feel every world is mapped out now. then I hear that and realise there's loads outside my ken.

Check out the record label addresses!

four years pass...

Last ever David Jacobs Collection tonight :(

Hopefully they're going to replace it with something along the same lines.
