the first portland one and Montreal Olympique are awesome, but I have to vote for my hometown Roughnecks. I still have a t-shirt!

I agree, the Portland one is pretty cool. It's one of the teams that still exists, too.

Nah, football was touched upon a little bit, and I was schooled in some NHL stuff...but mostly the evening involved her being an extraordinarily good sport as I dragged her to questionable watering holes and (ugh, wha's wrong w/me?) picked her brain for ilx gossip, which, yeah, is sad on many levels.

But fun was had by all. Er, both.

She seemed pretty into it when she called me! But you should meet B3n for a full-scale footy geek-out.

Yeah, it would involve negligible persuasion for me to sign up for that.

I felt bad when she called you b/c I think you were in transit or something, and you were like "yeah, yeah...okay...great, you guys are drinking. mm-hmm..."

But the part of me which quite possibly is beyond redemption was like, "no way, these disembodied presences actually exist in the larger world! How cool!"

I actually posted my three favorites up there already: the Pittsburgh Phantoms 1967, the San Francisco Gales 1967 (but why are there TWO Gs in the logo when there's only one in the name and why not just name them the Golden Gates or the Gates or SOMETHING?? itisamystery), and the Boston Rovers for sheer junior high clip-art value.
