I have a lot of affection for Abbott & Costello -- esp Meet Frankenstein and their TV show -- but "Who's on First" at #2? Does anyone laugh at it the second time they hear it?
(plus if they're gonna include vaudeville routines, there should be a lot more)
― Dr Morbius, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:20 (seventeen years ago)
fs why do people still think parrot sketch is particularly funny?
― blueski, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:25 (seventeen years ago)
Handles for forks.
― Dom Passantino, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:25 (seventeen years ago)
Now, how did I know what the number 1 would be?
― Tuomas, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:27 (seventeen years ago)
#15 is the best thing Chevy Chase ever did, btw
(some of these are obv NSFW)
― Dr Morbius, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:33 (seventeen years ago)
The Susquehanna Hat Company one is possibly funnier anyway
― Tom D., Friday, 11 April 2008 13:35 (seventeen years ago)
My work is blocking this...what was number one?
― pj, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:40 (seventeen years ago)
It is an ex-parrot.
― Dr Morbius, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:43 (seventeen years ago)
My #1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POVc-mrTVcw
― Dom Passantino, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:45 (seventeen years ago)
i guess Del Boy falling through the bar doesn't count as a sketch.
― Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:48 (seventeen years ago)
How can you hate "Who's On First?"
― Whiney G. Weingarten, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:49 (seventeen years ago)
I love the 500 words explaining what happens in the Parrot Sketch in case you live under a rock or can't click a YouTube.
― Whiney G. Weingarten, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:50 (seventeen years ago)
Cheese Shop > Parrot Sketch
― Tom D., Friday, 11 April 2008 13:51 (seventeen years ago)
Yes.
― chap, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:52 (seventeen years ago)
This list is so awful that I'm not even going to argue about it.
― Whiney G. Weingarten, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:55 (seventeen years ago)
Argument Clinic > Cheese Shop > Parrot
piranhas > argument clinic > parrot > cheese shop
― darraghmac, Friday, 11 April 2008 13:57 (seventeen years ago)
Piranhas not really a sketch in the same way as:
... that is the correct order too
― Tom D., Friday, 11 April 2008 13:58 (seventeen years ago)
blocked.
What's the top ten then ?
― Ste, Friday, 11 April 2008 14:04 (seventeen years ago)
head crusher the highest rated KITH sketch? srsly?
(tho i guess that particular one is the best of them all)
― impudent harlot, Friday, 11 April 2008 14:07 (seventeen years ago)
i find the SNL jeopardy parodies endlessly lulzome
― stevie, Friday, 11 April 2008 14:08 (seventeen years ago)
They really have a hard on for Monty Python don't they. Fast Show's Ted and Ralph drinking game and Morecambe and Wise conducting the LSO with Andre Previn are the big omissions for me.
― Billy Dods, Friday, 11 April 2008 14:08 (seventeen years ago)
...and pretty much any Mr Cholmondley-Warner sketch too.

^^^^ was just about to say this.
― Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 11 April 2008 14:16 (seventeen years ago)
can't view the list at work, but if previn didn't make top 50 then it's worthless
― darraghmac, Friday, 11 April 2008 14:24 (seventeen years ago)
Does anyone know how to divert the code that doesn't allow you to watch those SNL videos if you're not in America? I tried to watch them via an anonymizer website, but it still didn't work.
― Tuomas, Friday, 11 April 2008 15:00 (seventeen years ago)
US TV Proxy
― Dom Passantino, Friday, 11 April 2008 15:01 (seventeen years ago)
"Down until 4/19/08 due to bandwidth limitations!"
But thanks anyway.
― Tuomas, Friday, 11 April 2008 15:02 (seventeen years ago)
that SNL 'lol Gerald Ford him dead' one is pretty good. And I'm not entirely sure if Dom was being serious but the Adam and Joe 'People Place' sketch was lulz too.
― Upt0eleven, Friday, 11 April 2008 15:15 (seventeen years ago)
Too much concentrated SNL and Python in the top 20, not allowing for better, less played-out stuff like "Whatever Happened to Baby Dawn?"
I'd have put Wycked Scepter higher, too. "You are so naked!"
― kenan, Friday, 11 April 2008 15:37 (seventeen years ago)
If you clicked on the link, then the terrorists have won.
― Aimless, Friday, 11 April 2008 17:52 (seventeen years ago)
morbs, come on, "who's on first" is sublime. the longer it goes on the funnier it gets.
― J.D., Friday, 11 April 2008 23:27 (seventeen years ago)

Of course I'm being serious. The service station one in particular is fucking amazing.

the "doors fan" sketch was the best KITH moment.
― J.D., Saturday, 12 April 2008 00:24 (seventeen years ago)
i'd almost agree then i remember like 500 other amazing sketches. still my favorite show ever.

Rick james/ prince is better than racial draft; the two best things eddie murphy has done are not included: Mr. White & James Brown/Hot tub sketch...
― Jimmy The Mod Awaits The Return Of His Beloved, Saturday, 12 April 2008 02:22 (seventeen years ago)
wait wait -- is there srsly no fry and laurie in this list? demented.
― J.D., Saturday, 12 April 2008 09:48 (seventeen years ago)
4 Yorkshiremen ftw. Not least because it's still up-to-date.

Americans just don't care about obscure (to us) UK shows
― Dr Morbius, Saturday, 12 April 2008 17:29 (seventeen years ago)
They put Smack the Pony and Catherine Tate in the list, and Laurie is famous in the US now, so you'd think they'd explore that. (I don't like any of the comics mentioned in this post, by the way, I'm just questioning whether your reasoning is sound.)
― emil.y, Saturday, 12 April 2008 17:33 (seventeen years ago)
"Synchronized Swimming," Saturday Night Live, 1985
I would never have found this again if it weren't for this list! As a child of about 12, I found this sketch to be the funniest thing I had ever seen in life. I didn't know who Christopher Guest was back then! Never knew this was a revered sketch.
