It's raining: wear jacket...
No wait it's sunny now: either start sweating or take off jacket...
It's still sunny: leave jacket in office while I go out to get some lunch.
Now suddenly it's raining again: AND I'M GETTING SOAKED FUCKING ENGLISH WEATHER BASTARD BASTARD BASTARD!!!

snoball, Saturday, 12 April 2008 13:28 (seventeen years ago)

Seriously fucking big chunks of ice coming down now.

Matt DC, Saturday, 12 April 2008 14:03 (seventeen years ago)

Nice and sunny here in Wales.

Rob M v2, Saturday, 12 April 2008 14:21 (seventeen years ago)

hail is amazing

jhøshea, Saturday, 12 April 2008 14:23 (seventeen years ago)

Sunny sunny Ormskirk. We did have a blizzard last week though, which was odd.

Matt, Saturday, 12 April 2008 16:12 (seventeen years ago)

this is re-assuringly normal weather for April. i remember the heatwave a year ago.

blueski, Saturday, 12 April 2008 16:38 (seventeen years ago)

70 degrees in NYC today. I was sweating in an outdoor cafe around 6 pm this evening.

Virginia Plain, Sunday, 13 April 2008 00:21 (seventeen years ago)

70 odd degrees and awesomely sunny in Portland. We had our snow/hail/snow/rain/hail days last week.

Who doesn't like hail? A couple of weeks ago, when we had that huge but short storm, I was sitting in my living room on my sofa when I suddenly got hit on the toe by a hailstone the size of a peanut! It came down our chimney, then bounced out of the fireplace and halfway across the room. Amazing!

True, that. I was in London this time last year and got sunburned just walking about. none of this hailstone pish.

Bright sunshine five minutes ago, now it's coming down in stair-rods and it's very dark...

snoball, Sunday, 13 April 2008 09:44 (seventeen years ago)

<3 April. But yeah, I'd forgotten - April was our summer last year, wasn't it?

Mark C, Sunday, 13 April 2008 10:51 (seventeen years ago)

It's all downhill from here. Brimstone in June.

Matt, Sunday, 13 April 2008 11:22 (seventeen years ago)

Hail is fantastic, I love to see it bounce off the window.

Bodrick III, Sunday, 13 April 2008 12:40 (seventeen years ago)

I would much rather have hail and rain now and a proper summer rather than a heatwave in April and then four months of rain like last year.

2006 was still pretty cold by this point and that = longest hottest summer ever.

Matt DC, Sunday, 13 April 2008 13:49 (seventeen years ago)

No, it was sunny in June as well the other time I was down in London. Perhaps I should come and visit you more often and make the sun shine for you.

ailsa, Sunday, 13 April 2008 15:28 (seventeen years ago)

Best Spring Ever!

Those poor saps running the London Marathon, I thought this morning. Before heading out for over three hours cycling in rain, torrential freezing hail, and as an added bonus, acres and acres of mud.

It's June FFS.

James Mitchell, Saturday, 27 June 2009 16:38 (sixteen years ago)

this is banging m8, fucking massive hailstones rattling on the recycling bins and cars outside. so percussive!

lex pretend, Saturday, 27 June 2009 16:53 (sixteen years ago)

also funny watching people dressed for summer run shrieking past my window

hasn't hit wimbledon yet apparently!

lex pretend, Saturday, 27 June 2009 16:54 (sixteen years ago)

Supposed to be going out for my friends' engagement drinks in a lovely beer garden, this is annoying.

chap, Saturday, 27 June 2009 17:02 (sixteen years ago)

Nothing here yet...

snoball, Saturday, 27 June 2009 17:05 (sixteen years ago)

Where are you?

chap, Saturday, 27 June 2009 17:13 (sixteen years ago)

Surrey

snoball, Saturday, 27 June 2009 17:18 (sixteen years ago)

I was figuring that lex was in Central London, "hasn't hit wimbledon yet apparently!", Surrey is the next stop if the rain's travelling in a south-westerly-ish direction

snoball, Saturday, 27 June 2009 17:22 (sixteen years ago)

It's pretty much passed over North London now. Big chunks of ice bouncing off my windowsill about half an hour ago. Just grumbling thunder and a bit of rain.
