the one near where i work tends to put sugar in the coffee even if ask for it black, or explicitly without sugar. they seem to be on autopilot a lot. THAT SAID, i am a fan of their muffins on days when I want a sweet in the morning. The double chocolate one is extreme. I like the Blueberry Burst or whatever it's called.

connecticut muffin is maybe the least appealing two word construction in the english language and i hate it

Surmounter - I lived on Broome st for almost three years when I was in college and loved it. Took sketchy Chinatown bus to NY couple weekends ago and had a walk around. I miss NY! I've been in Boston for a while now! Where did you think I was?

NM what I said ealier about living near there - I lived by one of the other ones. I didn't realize was a chain but google tells me there are lots of them in NY now. That logo is annoying, yes.

dude they're barbecued meats are great, as are their fries, and their smoky greens. and not that his means anything but their hot dog was named best dog in the city by some stupid magazine.

also Mullane's burgers are great, and mullane's is a really convenient place to go and just chat. and LIL PIG SANDWICHES ARE OFF THE HOOK.

I had the Black Angus hot dog or whatever but really IT'S A HOT DOG. I do not require it to be anything special beyond not-made-of-cow-lips, and I like dogs best with sharp cheddar melted on top which they do not do. So...eh.

honestly these ppl put some kind of crack cocaine in the iced chai latte. i mean it's like, with a regular coffee u can kind of put the coffee down, let it sit for a minute. even with an iced coffee. but with an ICED CHAI LATTE, u cannot stop sipping the coffee. u are constantly sipping it until u feel like when it ends u are going to have a panic attack and shut down forever. only then u don't.

I always thought it was weird to have a place in New York City called "Connecticut Muffin," as though New York City suffered from a dearth of muffins, whereas Connecticut is a place associated with them. Seems a little like having a Delaware Bagel Shop or a Maryland Pizzeria

the williamsburg location was the first one I ever saw iirc, but there was also the ones in BK Heights and Ft Greene. I didn't think much of the coffee.

It stuck out more to me in Williamsburg because I remember it being there before Williamsburg was 100% bougie-fied. At least I think so -- maybe my memory is off.
