Seeds of Doom has Boycie in it!

Herman G. Neuname, Friday, 18 April 2008 14:35 (seventeen years ago)

Android Invasion has very little going for it, but I could probably vote for any of the rest. (Pyramids would be the obvious predicted winner.)

aldo, Friday, 18 April 2008 14:37 (seventeen years ago)

Pyramids of Mars is shit and I cannot remember a thing about the rest.

Autumn Almanac, Saturday, 19 April 2008 01:03 (seventeen years ago)

"Pyramids of Mars" is great! However it is no "BRAIN OF MORBIUS"

HI DERE, Saturday, 19 April 2008 01:23 (seventeen years ago)

"The Seeds of Doom" is also fucking awesome.

HI DERE, Saturday, 19 April 2008 01:23 (seventeen years ago)

Pyramids. Androids was balls. Zygons had some great bits, but also some really rubbish bits.

James Morrison, Saturday, 19 April 2008 02:09 (seventeen years ago)

Pyramids often wins the title of of best dr who ever. But it will probably get 0 votes here as it's ilx

Herman G. Neuname, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 11:51 (seventeen years ago)

I wish I could give a second preference for THE BRAIN OF MORBIUS.

The Real Dirty Vicar, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 12:20 (seventeen years ago)

By the way, the poll is for the best story in Tom Baker's 2nd season, not the best episode.

The Real Dirty Vicar, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 12:21 (seventeen years ago)

well, yeah. Oops.

Herman G. Neuname, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 14:49 (seventeen years ago)

pyramids > morbius >> seeds ov doom > android inv >> planet ov evil > zygons

the malevolence in pyramids had me petrified as a kid. morbius looks great (within reason) but feels a bit knock about (whoops, did i slip on yr brain).

Alan, Tuesday, 22 April 2008 19:45 (seventeen years ago)

I went with Seeds of Doom, but could have gone for pyramids easily. There's an interesting bit in Seeds where the Doctor decides that plant-infected dude has to have his arm amputated, but refuses to perform the operation, and is all, "you have to help yourselves." Kind of a dick move, considering that he's probably more qualified than anyone else there.

as a child, my favourite bit in this was when the bad guy's servant is not evil enough, so the other servant just kills him. OMG!

The Real Dirty Vicar, Wednesday, 23 April 2008 12:11 (seventeen years ago)

I'm a big fan of that Morbius brain-splat moment. It's kind of horrifying and hilarious at the same time.

JimD, Wednesday, 23 April 2008 12:42 (seventeen years ago)

i like when his claw falls off at the end.

The Real Dirty Vicar, Wednesday, 23 April 2008 13:14 (seventeen years ago)

stating the obvious, really, but that is one good season.

The Real Dirty Vicar, Wednesday, 23 April 2008 13:14 (seventeen years ago)

"The Android Invasion" was the first Doctor Who story I ever saw.

HI DERE, Wednesday, 23 April 2008 13:39 (seventeen years ago)

It is somewhat unregarded, but it does have a great cliff hanger (though bizarrely I cannot remember whether it is the Doctor meeting an android replicao himself, or of one of his friends, or of one of his friends meeting an android replica of the Doctor, etc.).

I remember we used to play at being one of the androids, which basically meant pointing your finger at people and shooting them with it.

The Real Dirty Vicar, Wednesday, 23 April 2008 14:56 (seventeen years ago)

Great days, Gay, great days, wheh wheh wheh.

It's robo-sarah jane, isn't it? I think her face falls off, and then there's all wires and flashing lights inside.

JimD, Wednesday, 23 April 2008 17:11 (seventeen years ago)

She walks off a cliff eventually, right?

HI DERE, Wednesday, 23 April 2008 18:16 (seventeen years ago)

"I think her face falls off, and then there's all wires and flashing lights inside"

this redeems any show it happens in. bionic man/woman did it a couple of years before hand.

Bit harsh on Planet of Evil

DavidM, Friday, 25 April 2008 04:14 (seventeen years ago)

Yeah, I mean apart from Prentis Hancock's CRAZY overacting it's really pretty good.

aldo, Friday, 25 April 2008 08:29 (seventeen years ago)

And the set design is INCREDIBLE.

aldo, Friday, 25 April 2008 08:32 (seventeen years ago)

Planet of Evil... when I was small, that was one of the scariest stories EVER. Still pretty good when seen later.

Bit harsh on Planet of Evil

this is the problem with plurality voting.

The Real Dirty Vicar, Friday, 25 April 2008 09:34 (seventeen years ago)

i like planet of evil

Herman G. Neuname, Friday, 25 April 2008 12:56 (seventeen years ago)

seven months pass...

Watching 'Brain of Morbius' right now. Evil dude reminds me of Michael Ironside w/ drama major haircut for some reason.

Also, between this and 'Planet of Evil', Sarah Jane was really hott this season.
