the scene that gets me every time (i'm talking waterworks) is when becky meets the mom. o gosh, and the whole family's having the party outside. u really almost feel like you're THERE, at the party. and the mom, she's just so sad.

and then of course there's the scene where becky asks gilbert what he wants, and he says he wants to be a good person.

not to mention the scene at the fucking jail, omg

i read the book before the movie came out, so the movie was kind of disappointing. i should rewatch the movie now.

I have kind of wanted to see this since I was ten.

I was astonished when the hoozband revealed the young Mr. DiCaprio played full retard. WHOA. How many crazy characters does this movie have? Eight?

Lasse Hallström shoulda stayed in sweden but abba broke up so he had to make shitty films for miramax instead

heh Wikipedia:
Sadly, the next morning, Arnie tries to wake her but discovers she has died; a notably heartwrenching scene played beautifully by DiCaprio.

sweet film. Was Juliette Lewis part of a cirus here? or a rodeo? There could be a thread "films where circus comes to town and everything changes for the characters"
(usually good films, Byebye Brasil, Shadows and Fog, err..)
