Namely, she loses a final, this time to an unranked Slovakian player. It's heartening to see that someone has finally installed sportsmanship circuits in her, though.

What _else_ could she do? Pulling a MacEnroe-size tantrum went out with the 80's and matching sweat- and wristbands...

Does this mean she's over the hill? I wonder;>

Indian Wells was an odd tournament on the women's side this year; the only big name draws who showed up were Hingis and Seles, and they met in the semifinals. I was hoping that Henin or Clijsters would win, but Hantuchova certainly makes for better press.

I can't believe that Hingis is only 21 and seems to be on a downward skid (or, to be more charitable, has become mortal and touchable so soon after dominating everyone).

Rash prediction: Hantuchova will make the semis of a Grand Slam -- probably the U.S. Open -- within the year.

Knock knock!
Who's there?
Hantuchova.
Hantuchova who?
Hantuchova to the KGB!!

(No, that didn't quite work.)

...but substitute StB for KGB and it does!

Re: Hingis, I actually cheer for her in Slam finals these days. But there's always someone who can overpower her.
