I don't actually forget the definition, but "windfall" seems like it would have a bad connotation.

I was thinking about starting a thread like this the other day after looking up a word I know I've looked up probably ten times in my life now and will most likely need to look up next time, especially since I can't even remember what it was.

i know what enjambment means now, but usually not.
Whenever I want to use the word epistemology, admittedly this isn't very often, I can't remember what it's called.

i think i once said etymology while grasping for it.

But then you don't have to pick them. Ground score!

a windfall is a good thing, as are apples that you don't have to pick. i'm a little finnish by your question

Last week I wanted to say "choreography", but the word just would not come to mind, kept thinking it began with "chron-"
came to post it on this thread, could not remember word for several minutes, could only think "the word that doesn't begin with 'chron'"
beginning to wonder if the word is fading from my vocabulary for good now, and whether this demonstrates early-onset senility

But it sounds like a bad thing, is my point: like the wind knocks down a branch onto your head when you're jogging in the park.
xp

The wind causes your tv antenna to fall off the roof.

I do this all the time out of paranoid fear that I'm mixing one word up with another and wind up psyching myself into forgetting. Not to mention how frequently I have trouble recalling the word itself; especially prone to these moments of aphasia with proper nouns.

Once a guy at my old store asked me, "where's the charmin", and was like he was droppin' Klingon.
― i ? sauces (╓abies), Friday, 30 October 2009 13:56 (sixteen years ago)
"where's the charmin" sounds like alament for better times, it's true
― Yo, Lout! (darraghmac), Friday, 30 October 2009 13:59 (sixteen years ago)
Haha, took me a second to figure out "alament" was meant to be two words. "Not aggaaaaiiin"
