Most newspaper obits are very objective about the life, but I don't read them often enough if it's idk, a judge, or someone who wasn't on anyone's radar.

Has anyone written about how the world of obituaries in newspapers work?

Sorry I should say I think obituaries should aim for a level of objectivity. Things like "she couldn't edit her statements" or "she was looking for a husband on the internet and ended up with this bloke". I mean..

I fully support character assassination obituaries only if the person involved was an utter cunt and the writer is intelligent and thoughtful, obviously in this case it's the exact opposite situation.

Maybe, I think I want to see the facts of a life. I will see a lot of character assassinations when someone like Kissinger finally dies. I feel in this situation I would just want to see an obit where usually things are cooly stated. Not out of some banal notion of respectability.
