salt water taffy

this shit is some kind of proustian memory trigger of summer weekends on the jersey shore. so delicious -- and so devoid of any redeeming nutritional value. i'm sure the wax paper is bad for the environment, too.

williams-sonoma is for suburbanites, btw

gabbneb, Monday, 28 April 2008 01:58 (seventeen years ago)

i had saltwater taffy at a very early age, but i've never done the garden state, sorry

gabbneb, Monday, 28 April 2008 01:59 (seventeen years ago)

Rich suburbanites who are too scared to go in 'ethnic' shops and therefore pay like $10 for a tin of paprika are the SW demographic. Gab has Zabar's for that ;-D.

My mom is in Florida feeding this addiction of hers right now.

I know it's not the same, but I loved Tangy Taffy when I was little.

Gab is too lazy to ever go to the West Side, he has the even more expensive version down the street. He also first visited Kalustyan's around age 6.

also saltwater taffy is too boring to opine on

The rare times I go to Columbia State Park in the Gold Country of California, I make sure to go to their candy store and get salt water taffy.
