We Love Brian Paddick, We PH34R 'The Mail'

I enjoyed reading the posts that DG pointed me to the other week. I idly flipped through The Mail (which gave me the PH34R) this weekend cos it was in the restaurant I was in at the time. Poor Brian. Imagine having all this shit about you in a nash newspaper, just cos you've broken up with your boyfriend.

I cannot believe that paper, jesus h christ in a chicken basket. I took out one page cos it was just unbelivable. An "opinion" columnist called Hitchens (a name I've probably read about in the Eye). Just unbelievably ignorant poison in every sentence. It made me so mad I had to take it home to keep as a souvenir of the heightened emotion I had felt on reading it.

And the letters page, my GOD! I'm calm now, but I must remember to read this rabid drivel every now and then, it reminds me that the well meaning but fatuous guardian stuff that annoy me is just small fry. I mean who gives a shit about the dullard writings of a Burchill/Ravens/Aikenhead (gosh all women, sorry) when there's this stuff to deal with.

I presume you're talking abt Peter Hitchens rather than his leftist brother Christopher. PH is another one of those rabid right-wingers who used to be a hardcore leftie then 'saw the light' during Thatcherism. I'm sure Robin knows more abt him...

I know. I was actually in a fit of righteous indignation on Monday, which is very rare for me.

1) "The concept of anarchism has always appealed to me." At least they quoted it properly.
2) "His deputy, Brian Moore" Is the Met run by a Brian Mafia?

Who's his secretary? John Motson?

Brian Paddick is about the best advert for the police you could get. He looks like Central Casting sent over a Good Cop.
