It's the Science Tattoo Emporium, run by one of my favorite authors, Carl Zimmer!

They range from crap to fucking awesome awesome. It is from this site that I learned Brad Pitt has an Ötzi the Iceman tat. !!!!

I have to admit, if I saw this one I would just assume she was an XTC fan.

carl zimmer is a totally awesome writer. his book "evolution" is incredible.

I have come close to getting a science tattoo a couple of times. one was a feynman diagram and one was "the ascent of man". glad to have changed my mind both times, but both were because I decided tattoos sucked rather than these were bad tattoos.

Yeah, god elmo, for real. Plus why the fuck would you juxtapose random f-block, p-block, and s-block elements? O rite, bcz yr a clever-clever fuck. "Thanks to him, I am now an independent thinker!"

Abbott, Monday, 5 May 2008 18:08 (seventeen years ago)

I dunno if this quite counts, but I have a 'parallel resonating band-stop filter circuit diagram that resembles the Kirby Was Here graffiti a la Thomas Pynchon's "V"' tattoo.

I seriously went off maths during the course of my PhD, but seeing these it's made me think that a tattoo of some esoteric mathematical symbol or formula would still be pretty cool. I guess that the maths geek/nerd is still alive somewhere inside me, just beaten into submission by 4 years of struggle.

no tramp stamps?

RabiesAngentleman, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 06:57 (seventeen years ago)

I have to admit, if I saw this one I would just assume she was an XTC fan.

I live near that hill and see a lot of green t-shirts with the design on, and I'm never quite sure if it's an expression of XTC fandom or enthusiasm for local (pre-)history. Then again I've been tempted to buy one before and I don't really know which I'd be doing it out of.
