i fucking love that song

Surmounter, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 18:27 (seventeen years ago)

I loathe Billy Joel but that's probably mostly due to overexposure growing up on Long Island and also because he's annoying.

ENBB, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 18:29 (seventeen years ago)

"a bottle red, a bottle of white." How can you hate the Joel?

burt_stanton, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 18:29 (seventeen years ago)

MOOKIEPROOF ARTHUR'S THEME IS FUCKING GOLDEN

STEP OFF

Abbott, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 19:05 (seventeen years ago)

The song really isn't even ABOUT New York City (or the moon), it is about ARTHUR. That is why it's his THEME. I mean, you would not say it was a shitty song about new york if it was just the (two!!!) verses:

Once in your life you find her, someone who turns your heart around,
And next thing you know, you're closing down the town.
Wake up and it's still with you, even though you left her way across town
You're wondering to yourself, "Hey, what have I found?"

Arthur, he does as he pleases; all of his life his master's toys
But deep in his heart he's just, he's just a boy.
Living his life one day at a time, he's showing himself a really good time.
He's laughing about the way they want him to be.

Abbott, Tuesday, 6 May 2008 19:07 (seventeen years ago)

I agree with the Billy Joel hate.

New York New York, its a hell of a town
The Bronx is up, and the Battery's down

...I always had this vision in my head of a sad battery when I heard that song.
